    Ironically, I have a buddy that played Tevye in a production on FIDDLER that we did together some 20 years ago. He actually did later become the singer of a rock cover band.

    Bond vs Kreigler. About as good as Bond vs Hans.

    So does that mean in B25 we'll get the Craig equivalent with an ineffectual blond henchman?

    This Thatcher parody ending dates the film and is a bit silly. That said, I don't mind it.
    Also, this watch is my least favorite of Roger's Seiko's. He'd have a cooler looking watch in the next film.

    Absolutely. Aside from the character's name change I pictured Carole Bouquet when I read the FYEO short story as well. I think she did a great job here.

    Wonder if she isn't mentioned as much, because the character was all set on revenge, and probably a bit "cold"?

    Kriegler turning his head so quickly (to catch Kristatos leaving with the ATAC) always seemed exaggerated. Mallory does this too in Spectre while fighting C, spotting Blofeld's helicopter. Seems they totally recycled that idea, actually.

    It was always a fave Roger for me. I think it's a good example of a Bond deliberately influenced by FRWL and OHMSS and succeeding in capturing some of that feel.

    It showed that Roger could play a more serious Bond too - while still having his usual charm. A standout film because of that!

    I wasn't crazy about the 2006 Lowery restoration of this one, but the Blu ray does the film justice. This looks damn good.

    I first saw this opening day. A matinee, right after drama rehearsal. I had only 20 minutes to get across town to the cinema or I'd miss the gunbarrel and PTS. A friend dropped me off as I didn't have a car (or my licence) back then.

    I got there JUST in time. Like Pierce at the end of AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS.

    I loved every frame. The six year wait had finally come to an end with a film that proved worth the wait for me. Classic old school Bond was back with a modern approach.

    Much like LTK, the title track is nowhere to be heard within the film itself.
    Pity. A slower instrumental version might have been a nice romantic melody.
