Well Kara is under watch from the KGB. And I don't remember the shots of bumbling policemen. :-??
It's the tv movie thing again. I've seen my share of tv movies, though I have not seen one as good as TLD and/ or LTK. If there is a tv out there, that looks better than either film, I am all eyes...
What's not great about it. She is in the presence of Bond, having been fed half truths from Koskov and is likely nervous.
As always.
I can hear it clearly in my head, now, i'm not getting the Flash Gordon connection.
He jumps, lands and gets up, all good.
I still think some of the interior sets look a tad cheap and yes TV movie like. However, this is made up for by some of Glen's best location work (Vienna, Afghanistan etc).
Love the movie. Its over two hours long but its perfectly paced and the time flys by.This is an example of what QOS should have been but was ruined by poor scripting and direction.
Watching my new Blu!
Gunbarrel- I like the same-ish Bond Theme music here compared to OP and AVTAK.
Had Barry tampered with it for this film, I bet he would have added that drum machine, which would have dated the scene. Here it's timeless.
Hey Driver ..........
I never felt TLD looked particularly cheap or TV movie-ish. Stylistically it's minimal. There are no huge Ken Adam sets and everything from the texture to colors have a naturalistic feel.
Nearly everything Tim does is intense. The way he pulls the lever on the pipeline sending Koskov over the border for example. Just his style. Fans either like it or don't. I've always been a strong supporter of The Daltonator myself.
Delivers it ???
I like M's expression when Bond hands him the receipt for doing the groceries. Great to see familiar faces such as the Minister here.
Roller coaster. I could possibly see Pierce in this scene, maybe Roger, but have a hard time picturing Danny or Sean in the bumper cars.
I always liked this section of the film, my favorite really. I vividly remember seeing this multiple times in the cinema summer of '87. Always been one of my favorite Bond films.
I think that's why I've often felt a bit unsure and in two minds about him. Everything is dramatic and pronounced. It's taken further in LTK certainly.
I feel that - sometimes - you can sense that Dalton's thought carefully about each expression he's going to make before he makes it, particularly in LTK.
I like that part of the film too.
That's probably the best scene in the film. I love Rys Davis's terrified-but-dignified expression as he braces himself for death.
Even this time around...dare I say I even prefer Arnold's QOS effort. And I don't even have to sound like I'm apologising for saying it
Yes I think the same at present. It's quite a limp film, despite the presence of Walken and the score.
Sometimes I enjoy this movie. Often I don't. I can only imagine how they got Connery ti reprise his role in this Thunderball remake.
Uh, back to the movie...
