Two reasons..
1) Money.
2) To annoy Cubby Broccoli.
I love that scene. It's obvious Tee Hee thinks the whole situation is funny.
Earlier this Autumn I did the Dalton double feature which was a great experience.
It's actually at least ten years since I watched all four Brosnan films back to back.
Probably two today, two tomorrow.
After that I might do the same for the Lazenby-era :))
GEORGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just watched it, not much of a comment you think? Right. But I was too bloody busy noting every single of bloody Donald Pleasance bloody 2 second appearances in the bloody film.
I am nutz, I love the films so much I'll do anything for proper statistics.
I just got a Blu of YOLT recently. I'll have to watch that one soon.
The Draco meeting. She also plays..........a very good game of chess.
Isn't it a pleasure to discover Bond for the first time on Blu-ray.
I can remember every single instance, I had seen all the Bonds "only" on DVD and LaserDisc (DN to QOS) before getting the BOND 50 box in 2012.
Now I re-discovered them again this year with my new Samsung 4K 65" UHD screen.
OHMSS, TWINE and CR I still have to see that way.
Great Bond song.
Now comes my fave part- the Gumbold office scene.
yep, and I have been to that place :) it's in our Capital Berne very near the Governments main building.
Absolutely! It's great- especially since many of these Blu-rays got the colors right. I've been gradually collecting these on Blu.
Funny you should mention the television. My girlfriend got me an HD TV for Christmas last year and all DVD, Blu-rays, even old VHS tapes look a million times better. It's kind of like watching these for the first time all over again.
If I ever get the opportunity to travel to Europe and make it to Switzerland, the locations in OHMSS and GF are a must for me to see.
We got snow where I'm at so these snow sequences are quite fitting for the mood here.
I always liked those scenes.
I hope the PTS for Bond 25 doesn't feature Bond at all, but instead sets up the story with one of these type scenes, moody and suspenseful.
I miss those villain's plot set up scenes as well. I somehow doubt the filmmakers will go the Bondless PTS route (although I think if done well, it could work). I do like those scenes immediately after the titles when something goes awry: the St Georges sinking, 009 murdered, etc. OR the villains meeting: Kronsteen, Blofeld and Klebb, and the TB SPECTRE in Paris for instance.
Then our hero is called into the office to get the lowdown from M following a brief flirtatious scene with Moneypenny and dutifully sent on his way. Dutifully being the operative word, not "personally". I think we're due for at least one film where the only personal element is Bond's personal preference of drink, food or tailoring.
I seem to recall reading somewhere that Mendes didn't want any scenes where Bond wasn't involved, although there are undoubtedly some (Silva escaping, for one).
That sounds a good idea actually.
I really should upgrade this 2006 UE DVD. The gunbarrel looks slightly off.
AVTAK is fun all the way thru. Roger oozes charm here with Kimberly Jones.
