Been an extremely good watch of OP today. It’s never been quite a favorite for me, but it could see a bit of a climb this time around. It’s awfully entertaining.

The bomb countdown in OP is infinitely more exciting and suspenseful than the one in SP.

OP is a top 10 entry for me. I really have a soft spot for that Bond film.

It just had my best-ever watch and is moving up like 3 or so spots from my last ranking.

I haven't watched a Bond film in a long time - so kicking back to view... SPECTRE...

The gun barrel is back! Actually brings a smile to face - not sure about Craig's walk, the gun is too prominent but his turn and shoot is ok. The opening music of the day of the dead is still a real highlight of recent Bond films - it has exotic swagger - as much as I'm not a big fan of Newman's work in this film, he has to be given credit for a great scene setting opening track.

Would have been much better to not have 'the dead are alive' but just have the white dot expand from the skeleton face.

That is a cool Skeleton outfit. Live and let die inspired themes and that shot of Craig walking with the celebrations below are excellent.

Bond crouching and listening in on sciarra's conversation does feel a bit like a cut scene from a PlayStation bond game.

That PTS is great. Really enjoy it. The music throughout is good.

The couple falling through space in the titles reminds me of camille and bond falling into the sinkhole in QOS.

Can't get on board with the writings on the wall. It's not awful but just don't like sentiment in the song as it relates to a bond film. The swelling orchestra stings are great though.

Agreed, that sounds marvelous. Sam does not.

Fiennes delivery of 'you had no authority. None.' Is top class. I think Bond is a little too smart-Alec when it comes to his responses to M. Although this attitude works better in his interactions with Denbigh.

Temporary guardianship papers...and so begins the messy brother-gate rabbit hole we're about to disappear down. If they had to go through this it might have been better to not bother with Judi Dench's mission from beyond the grave and just have bond piece it together for himself.

Say what you want...but damn if they haven't nailed the Q - Bond relationship. Good chemistry between wishaw and Craig.

Love the briefest of scenes between M and Moneypenny - "not your birthday is it?" "No sir, that was last week". Could imagine Lee and Maxwell delivering that exchange.

Great establishing shot of Rome in daylight. Good foreshadowing of the aston's capabilities - marked with label maker level signs.

The 'life insurance' discussion at the funeral is a nice, efficient piece of dialogue writing. I like bond's wave to the figure in the background. Having it in wide shot is a good choice, makes it a little less cutesy as we don't see a smirk from bond as we make have in the Brosnan era or a raised eyebrow in the Moore era.

Beautifully composed shots at the widow sciarra's house. No wonder I was seduced by the first half of this film when I saw it at the movies.

First time I'd noticed the tear rolling down belluci's cheek as Bond is seducing her.

They did go overboard with the yellow colour saturation. QOS, SF and SP have three distinctly different looks. The most stylised Bond era?

Spectre meeting. My favourite scene in the film. Hinx's little music cue is great. Blofeld in shadow, his distant and cold voice. The look on Craig's face at the end is one of real uncertainty. Love it.

I don't mind the old Italian man being pushed by the Aston. Very Moore or Brosnan era but doesn't upset the scene too much.

If the car chase had one extra section between when he finishes talking to Moneypenny and before the drive onto the canal channel. If that section had a really amazing stunt or something inventive it would have made the chase better. I realise they're trying to do story exposition and humour in the chase so tension is a distant third as a priority - but some thing extra would have been great.

Bond's 'good evening' when he lands is fun. These are the bond moments I enjoy.
