    FOR YOUR EYES ONLY

I have some of the great Roger playing- warehouse scene.

This one hits the spot quite well on a day like today. Snowy outside and cool.

Locque gets his....................classic iconic Roger moment.

The underwater section here is great as well.

    Great Conti music here.

Roger has an ENORMOUS Seiko diver's watch on the outside of his yellow sleeve.
About 25 years ago a friend gave me a similar Seiko....wind up.....and was actually too big to wear with a suit. Still it was my FYEO style diver's Seiko. Wish I still had it, but I gave it to another Bond fan friend.

I love that scene. Wonderfully atmospheric as well. Oddly, the Blu-ray seems lit differently than the old SE DVD. I believe there were differences in the various VHS editions during this scene. The CBS/Fox Home Video version was incredibly bright here.

Bond and Melina dragged along the coral. Roger looks damn good here: fit, rugged, hair tousled just so. Although a tad older than in the previous films, he has a ruggedness here that was missing previously. Yet he's still Roger.

Rolling Skyfall - for obvious reasons.

    Great PTS....

The scene where Bond is ‘passed’ for active service! Craig looks really good, and I like his suit. In the very next scene with Q he looks quite warn out.

One of the best casts ever assembled in a Bond film

And here he is. Mr Finney.

Always enjoy this film. Pleased that Kincade survived, because normal thriller logic would say he is a character destined to die. I guess It would’ve detracted from M ‘ s death had they opted for that.

I did think, when Kincade emerged and Silva shot in his direction, that he was going to be killed, but I thought another good touch was Silva warning him off only.

Started YOLT. Was going to go to bed early to catch up on sleep, but I couldn’t resist.

YOLT: “You’ve never been to Japan before, have you?” “No, never.”

...FRWL: “Once when I was with M in Tokyo we had an interesting experience...”

Ever since I noticed this it has bugged me haha

Tanaka is a great ally character. Right now this film is really hitting the spot.

The docks scene. A series highlight!!!

The score by Barry in YOLT is sublime. I’d rank it my third favorite just behind OHMSS and TB.

@Birdleson I love that one too. Maybe fourth place? It’s hard to pick and choose Barry’s soundtracks. Most are fantastic, and none are weak. A ranking might look something like:

    1. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
    2. Thunderball
    3. You Only Live Twice
    4. Moonraker
    5. The Living Daylights
    6. Goldfinger
    7. A View to a Kill
    8. Octopussy
    9. From Russia with Love
    10. The Man with the Golden Gun
    11. Diamonds Are Forever

Really? That’s too bad. Always been a fan of that one.

At Aki’s death in YOLT. Really like this scene.

Bond is pretty cold even after that

I like her too. I mean it’s unfortunate she dies, but I think it’s a really well done scene.

I'm watching Skyfall, and remember a complaint that people thought it was stupid that James Bond took M to a place where there are no weapons. But I swear it's as simple as. He just didn't know that they'd all been sold?

That’s correct. We clearly get the explanation from Kincade.

Onto the epic final act of YOLT. I love it. This has been one of my best watches of YOLT in a long while.

Watching YOLT myself right now. First time with the Blu-ray.

Just noticed Sean takes his shoes off before entering Henderson's home, and indeed, when he bursts through the wall to attack the assassin, he's still in his socks. Nice touch.

Something odd - Charles Gray is listed as being 6'1", and Connery 6'2", but Gray looks notably taller as Connery walks in.

Fight scene in Osato's office - they both look winded by the end of it.

Never understood why Sean had this safecracker here, then Lazenby had the massive briefcase in OHMSS, then Moore went to a small x-ray model in Moonraker.

Definitely agree with Craig on the 2000GT, such a beautiful car.

Having watched DAF before this one, it's staggering how much Sean aged between '67 and '71.

If you tried to get me to choose between Luciana Paluzzi and Karin Dor, I'd be at it for hours.

The rooftop fight at the docks has some beautiful camerawork, and the score fits perfectly.

"Ah, welcome to Japan, Dad." might be Sean's most "Yeah, I'm comfortable in this role" line ever.

The rocket capture ship reminds me a lot of Serleena's ship from Men In Black 2. Odd thought, I know.

Hans moves fast. Goes from the lower floor, to the top of the stairs, to the lower floor in the blink of an eye.

"Extortion is my business. Go and think it over, I'm busy."

Love how proud Osato is to identify the PPK.

One thing YOLT does is spread the action out over a few weeks. It's not perfect in showing what Bond does during the whole time, but it's also not compressed into a few days.

Guy breaking the block of ice with his head - ouch!

Love how nervous Sean acts waiting for his bride to walk up the steps. Honestly, I don't agree that he's lazy in this film. Comfortable? Yes. And understandably, playing Bond for the fifth time, he's not looking to really reinvent the role. He's certainly better here than DAF, where many times he looks ready to get back to golfing.

Thank goodness Bond had his secret mountain base suction cup gear with him.

And there's the man himself. Hiya Ernst.

A nice touch, having the firetruck with firemen waiting near the pad.

A lesson for Blofeld here in the future - don't let Bond live. Of course the plot demands otherwise.

Now here's a fine example of how to do a big, expensive fight in the boss's base. Take notes, Spectre.

Nice little subversion not having the timer stop at 00:07.

A good sendoff for Sean. I feel like the "James Bond In Japan" theme fits the era well, and really wouldn't have worked at another time, or with anyone else.

Now watching The Man with the Golden Gun. One of my least favourite Bond movies. That info dump during Bonds first scene with M is outrageous.

The belly dancer scene is nonsense. Why is she using the bullet as a lucky charm? Who are the guys beating him up? The room looks like a set from the Saint. The production value for this scene is horrendous.

    “I’ve lost my charm.”

    “Not from where I’m standing.”

Credit where it’s due, that’s a great line!

Nice touch for Q to have a bud to bounce off of with that ballistic expert.

Great work from Barry with the score. Especially the Asian themed version of the 007 theme tune.
