Another fun viewing of TB. This one remains high in my rankings.

It finally broke my top ten during my Bondathon this year. I can forgive it s faults now, so much greatness after all.

It's faults are some of the elements I enjoy. The countless continuity errors, the Felix one is legendary. LOL.
I love the plot, and have been always fascinated by the history of this outing.

Yes, those magic pants are something that should be in stores for Christmas.

Here we go again- I am so pumped for the new film I can't get enough of Bond right now

in honor of Craig's 5th outing, I hereby pop in Sean's 5th outing

    YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE
    -

Gunbarrel in the key of F. I love the crisp black and white.
I want B25's GB to be similar in style, tone and look to this.

I love how the PTS slowly builds. It's not my favorite, but it's certainly original from what came before.

The model work is impressive as is Barry's score. One of my favorite music cues in Bond history.

Okay Sean in bed with a future CR beauty. Sean is the man.

The Blu-ray is a bit too magenta in flesh tones.

If I had to pick a favorite Connery era score, this is it.

Bond dies. Imagine if this film were done today, what the social media would think!!!!!

Wonderful titles. Binder at his best, IMO.

Why is it, I'm sitting down ready to enjoy some Bond when I get interrupted and have to tend to a bill or something? Oh yes. I forgot. It's called adulthood and responsibility.

    Okay, back to YOLT.

Karin Dor is one of my favorite Fiona type Bond girls.

Here's the "drop in the ocean" bit. It's pretty ridiculous, but fun. I could picture Roger in this scene. I could see him in this film, actually.

An excellent choice. It’s my #3, and always helps me feel better.

I’m watching TND now. I like a lot of this movie, but with a few changes it could have been way better still. My main issue is the meh third act. I think it’s Brosnan’s best Bond performance though, and his second best entry after GE.

Good choice. TB is quite calming and re-energizing. Also Domino's presence in the film cheers me up when I'm in the foulest of moods.
    Hope you feel better.

Kobe Docks sequence. One of my favorite moments in the series.

    1. CR
    2. OHMSS
    3. TB
    4. FRWL

Watching TB on Bluray, I was recalling the awful VHS version, for years the film on home video had an appalling edit

The CBS/Fox Home Video edition oddly was missing the "Mink it reduces the tensions" scene.

That "little girl" speech Bond gives to Tanaka is a bit suspicious with the "just your type" comment, knowing about the common lolita cult in Japan.

YOLT has a lot of fun parts, but Connery’s performance went so far down compared to his first four. This really distracted me in particular my last watch.

We see the volcano set for the first time. I remember as a kid being in complete awe of this scene.

    And Helga gets eaten.

It is a work of genius on Ken Adam's part, his sets are the best in cinema

He's lost a bit of his spark from the previous films. I think that the other four were scheduled similarly allotting time for him to do other projects. This one was stretched out an extra 6 months.
In addition, Connery was in the can trying to do his business when reporters followed him in asking obnoxious questions. I love the footage of Cubby telling off the press that Sean needs some privacy. LOL.

Still, I think his screen presence here is up to par, even if his overall performance was not.
