    Bond and Camille arrive back at the hotel middle of the night.
    I like when Bond is in situations that take up the entire day. He probably hasn't eaten since before Greene's party.

    Out of respect for the apple Dominic Greene munches on in the third act, I felt compelled to make a quick trip to the grocery store for some fruit.
    Now I can be super healthy and strong like Dominic Greene.
    Great viewing of this superb Bond epic.

    Peformances are top notch in this. But I do really like a lot of the dialogue.

    It's in that department SP fails miserably in my opinion.

    The dialogue isn't bad in QoS, even with the strike.

    Well, I'm in between jobs at the moment and have a little time. I need a bit of Scaramanga inspiration so it's time to pop in

    THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN.

    I love Christopher Lee. He remains my all time favorite actor. Ever since I first saw him play Dracula.

    M offering to relieve Bond of his present assignment and suggesting 007 lay low implies Bond is a coward. I love Roger Moore's irritated reaction shots as M is essentially calling him a wuss. I also love M's facial expression as Bond suggests finding Scaramanga first.

    This is a brilliant M scene, IMO.

    One of my favorite "Bond, James Bond" line readings is as Roger enters Saidas dressing room.

    This fight scene reminds me of THE SAINT. Always liked it.

    The Lazar sequence is great.
    Actually compared the Blu-ray with the earlier pre-Lowery 2000 SE DVD.
    As of this moment I'm finding the Blu-ray to be far superior.
    This looks pretty damned good.

    Goodnight gets extremely jealous when she sees Hip's nieces in the back seat. They look so young Bond would probably just offer them some ice cream. No need to worry.

    Sheriff JW Pepper is hilarious in this one.
    As silly as MOONRAKER is, I actually find the two Guy Hamilton Bonds with Roger funnier. This might rank as the funniest film in the series to me.

    The funniest scene in the series though is coming...............Mary Goodnight's rejection of Bond's advances.
    Here we go...............

    Oh, darling, I'm tempted. But, killing a few hours as one of your passing fancies, isn't quite my scene.

    Classic!!!!!!

    Bond got dissed to the max.

    I think Roger is quite Fleming-esque in this one. This is one of his best performances as Bond, IMO.

    LICENCE TO KILL 2000 SE DVD

    Time for some more Bond. Starting another job in a couple days and time to unwind.
    Got this DVD edition at a yard sale a few weeks ago and as Robert Davi's birthday was recent, this is my choice for today.
    The PTS-
    The colors here are rather muted, but I remember these scenes looking a bit dull in the cinema and dare I say even a tad grainy.

    This is also the original US edit before certain shots were restored in 2006..

    Okay- the titles are pretty different in terms of color timing. Not sure which version I prefer, though the Lowery version may be more true. It's been 32 years after all since I saw this in the cinema.
    That red shot of Diana Le Hsu looks pretty accurate here.
    Sanchez is my fave villain.....alongside Goldfinger.

    There are certain colors that when transferred to DVD/Blu-ray or VHS don't quite match their 35mm counterparts. Perhaps because film often fades? If one used Eastmancolor for instance a movie might result with a more magenta look.
    The blackjack table later in the film looks blue in many film stills, yet on home video looks more greenish.
    This DVD looks more magenta than the Blu-ray.

    This reminds me a little of the way LTK looked on TBS back in the late '90's.
    I'd love to see a 35mm print of this again some day just to compare the colors.
    Any big screen viewings today would undoubtedly be a digital copy- hence the Lowery version.

    I love the Krest warehouse fight. This sequence is wonderful.
    There were a lot of cracks and pops during this sequence in the cinema. The shot of Sharkey looking over at the suitcase of money was EXTREMELY grainy. It looked like a completely different film stock.
    The Blu-ray smoothens this out. This DVD looks fairly uniform all round as well.

    Bond during the M sequence looks like he hasn't showered in at least a week. His hair looks particularly unattended to here.

    The host that directs Bond and Pam to the blackjack table (looking green here) has a legendary balding mullet. Wow.
    The croupier has a ton of Aqua Net. We've talked endlessly about Dalton's hair on this film so I'll discuss everyone else's.
    So, I remember the film stock changing during the casino section on a shot of Davi as the reels changed and this DVD displays the change preciely.
    Still this print is far too magenta.
