I should get an obnoxious, ugly striped bathrobe like Bond's here. That would be funny.
Reminds me of Bond's hotel suite furniture in DR NO.
My favorite piece of music in recorded history playing as Bond kisses Domino in the dance studio.

The sweater Bond wears over the striped polo in Palmyra reminds me of the Universal Studio's FRANKENSTEIN MONTER. It's actually gray, but looks greenish on the other transfer.

If Ken Sharrock's TLD jailer haircut is all the rage now in 2021, I predict by the time we get B26 in 2031, Brandauer's hairstyle will have made a HUGE comeback. Everyone will be wearing their hair like Largo's in NSNA.

    HOLD ON

    HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD!

That poor horse does fall flat on his back. Apparently this was a stunt horse who had made dozens of jumps into water and wasn't remotely phased.
Still, the UK version wisely cuts straight to the splash, and in all honesty, it looks much better that way, IMO.

M sounds like an idiot over the speakers. Meanwhile Bond makes out with Domino.

I do like the Tears of Allah set and this little climactic battle. The music isn't so distracting here, either.

Felix kicking ass. Bernie Casey was an excellent Leiter.

Fun viewing. I could've gone to work tonight, but it's Connery's birthday so I declined and chose to watch NSNA instead. The sacrifices one makes while being a Bond fan................. I worked my other job during the day, anyway.

I was always disappointed in this sequence! Its just so slow. When I think of the Connery movie 'The Wind and The Lion' which has a thrilling opening kidnapping scene involving horses, and some terrific running shots of the riders approaching, if only the NSNA stunt team had watched it and delivered something similar, it would have been a highlight, instead of the drab set piece it is!

I like it well enough. The music doesn't help matters, though. Connery looks great here, though.

Connery looks great throughout, much prefer him here than in a few of his other Bond movies to be honest!
Still recall being bitterly disappointed when i went to see this in the cinema! ( My abiding memory of it is some Dad at the back of the cinema shouting out "Come on, Bond!" when 007 was getting trashed by Pat Roach!)
I do enjoy it a lot more now!

I was a little kid when my folks took me to see NSNA in the cinema and I loved it just as much as OP.
I was quickly becoming a Bond fan then and wanted to see every Bond movie made.
There was a handful I still hadn't seen, but was most curious about.

Oh God, I loved OP when I went to see it on a sunny Summers day back in '83! Probably what tainted my viewing of NSNA as OP,for me, was a hard act to follow!

Yeah, I saw a Saturday matinee of OP and I vividly remember how bright the sun was when we exited the theatre. One of my favorite childhood memories.

I really miss Bond in the Summer, when Brossa took over, I remember thinking "November??, ah, seriously?"

Right. These days it seems forgotten that a Bond release used to be a summer blockbuster event.

Yeh,agreed! it looked like we were heading back that way with NTTD, but alas circumstances have changed that! Maybe Bond will be back in the Summer for no. 26?

Interestingly, GoldenEye was originally announced for summer of '95 until further re-writes pushed it back to November. I remember being gutted we'd have to wait another 5-6 months. Imagine how I would've responded to NTTD's never ending delays back then. I'd love to see the Bonds return to a summer release. actually. We almost got one with QoS.
An October release reminds me of NSNA.

In the States it was definitely October. October 7th, I believe.
I think it may have had a December release elsewhere. Maybe the UK?

Excellent. I would have actually seen it on October 8th as my folks took me, opening weekend, Saturday matinee.
If I don't get opening day of NTTD off, then I'll have to go the following Saturday.
However, things are looking good for me to go opening day.

George Lazenby's birthday is coming up in about a week.
    I can't wait.
    I'm watching it now.......

    ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE

One of the best PTS openings IMO, as well as one of the best "Bond, James Bond" intros.

After watching SPECTRE and in preparation for NTTD, which I imagine, may have some inspiration drawn from this film, I need to see the real thing.

    Wonderful titles.

This casino sequence is one of my all time favorites. George is pretty suave at the baccarat table.
Diana Rigg remains one of my all time favorite Bond women.
    She's amazing.

Bond slaps Tracy while interrogating her. I wonder how audiences would respond if Craig had a similar scene?
Bond puts on Tracy's bathrobe. I must admit I used to do the same thing with my late girlfriend's robe when she was working nights. The things we Bond fans do just to be like George Lazenby.

    This is a wonderful scene.

I love Lazenby's facial expressions while Draco talks.
I like to make the same faces when someone is talking and I pretend to look interested.
