@ToTheRight "The ABC Sunday Night Movie" !!!

That brings back a lot of memories. I use to tape all of the Bond films using my old VCR. While many don't rate YOLT, it is always in my top ten - perhaps for the sheer "over the top ness" of it.

Plus Akiko Wakabayashi and Mie Hama.
    Plus Ninjas and Volcano Lairs.
    Plus.....

Great stuff, @Dwayne. I loved the star tunnel intro on "The ABC Sunday Night Movie". It was an event to watch a Bond film on Sunday nights. My folks let me stay up for it. Great times.

ABC had the US to broadcast all of the Bond films until 1990. And except for a brief time around 2002/2003 the Bond films have mostly been a cable TV affair.

...Mr. Osato believes in a healthy chest.
    Really....
(you have to love the way Connery delivers that line)

I remember the 2002 ABC era. They CGI'ed black underwear on Plenty O Toole.

I'm at the scene where Bond marries Kissy and she rejects him on their first night together.
That would suck in real life.

I love Kissy. Underrated Bond girl, IMO.

Bond just happens to have suction cups handy and a gray outfit to match the interior of the volcano.

I love Bond rescuing the imprisoned astronauts.
    Who the hell are you?

Bond is more than ready to go into space, in spite of his lack of training.

    Bond got busted.

As Bond enters to meet Blofeld, we see Jan Werich in the role. Hans steps in front of him. We can clearly see Werich's gray hair in this scene.

Hmm. I'm starting to have second thoughts about who is my favorite Blofeld.
Donald Pleasence is quite scary here. Personification of evil.

Pleasence's introduction is a series highlight for me. Now be sure to be on the lookout for the crazy kitty cat.

Blofeld's cat is clinging onto him for dear life. Pleasence manages to keep him comforted, though. I wonder if he had catnip in his jacket pocket?
Today the cat would be CGI, like that phony looking lopsided, MGM lion in the beginning of NTTD.

According to Taschen's Bond book, that cat actually went missing. Watch for the scene where Blofeld kills Osato.

    That's right! He disappears.

The little fight with Hans is pretty funny.

I love that Kissy wears her bikini throughout the entire volcano battle, never once opting to don the gray turtleneck uniforms Bond, Tiger and the other agents are wearing.

When Connery climbs aboard a yellow dingy, he always has a beautiful companion with him.

When Craig climbs aboard a yellow dingy, he has Felix's cigar instead.

    Magnificent viewing of this epic.

    I enjoyed every frame.

Kissy has her own fashion sense never following Tiger's trends.

According to Mie the set was freezing cold and (it you look closely) you can see her skin start to turn blue.

That was great, @Dwayne . It would be nice to do a group watch along sometime. Those are always fun.

The LTK thread has me in the mood for

    LICENCE TO KILL

so I'm watching it. I'm going with the older 1999/2000 SE DVD release.
In spite of an audio glitch towards the end of the film I very much like this release. The U.S. theatrical cut.

I love the PTS. Bond in Florida. Everyone has '80's hair except Sanchez, Felix and Dalton, who has Dalton hair.

Bond goes to help Lupe and she dismisses him. I love David Hedison as Leiter.
Bond dangling from the copter was a lot of fun in the cinema. Aerial stunts in Bond movies always thrilled me. The John Glen films excelled in this type of action.

I prefer the color timing on this release for the titles. Looks brighter to me.

I did indeed save up the damned $89.95 to purchase the VHS release in January of 1990.
I had to order it specially from a video store that was very expensive to rent from. .
The store owner thought I was insane for wanting this Bond film.
"So is this a film you actually want?" was his reply when I asked him to order it for me.

I remember being slightly disappointed the titles were in pan and scan. The previous 2 films were released with scope titles and many of the newer re-issues of the bonds on VHS had widescreen titles.

He we go.............the Leiter torture scene.
Sanchez is great. Davi has classic quality about him. I could see him in a Cagney or Bogart film from the 1930's and he would fit right in.

Krest has an amazing jacket. They're all wearing windbreakers. I don't ever remember jacket weather when I was in Florida.

We don't see the bloody stump in this version.
