There should be a drinking game based on the times Vijay Amritaj corpses in this movie (except when he plays an actual corpse, of course).

    It's Cubby's birthday! Yay
............and I've chosen a Bond in which he only gets a presenting credit. :(

    THUNDERBALL

Well, working overnights now, sleep by day (like Dracula), and I happened to have this dream than Domino brought me conch chowder .LOL

I have this hunch that Cubby and Harry probably did more actual hands on producing than McClory, though. Kevin probably looked at the whole shoot as a vacation.

    Bond discovers Derval dead.
The wonderful Paul Stassino, who appeared in several SAINT episodes with Roger Moore.

Watching a DVD version I got last Christmas, part of a Connery collection.
I could be mistaken and may have to compare, but I think the color timing looks different than on the Blu-ray.

I love scenes underwater when people cut off each other's oxygen supply. Largo des this well.

    "Any time, James, any place....."
    "Another time, another place"

Which reminds me I need a copy of that film as I've been on a Lana Turner appreciation lately. My birthday is coming up next week, so maybe I'll treat myself?

...........and we get Domino's introduction. Watching this copy in it's original mono so I can hear the Bond melody in it's full glory during this underwater bit. It's muffled out in the DTS stereo audio track.

I absolutely love this section where Bond arrives at the casino. I think SKYFALL tips it's hat to this scene.
    Wonderful Barry score.

Is this the screwed up edition that doesn't have the blood as Quist is fed to the sharks?

    Nope, it has the blood.
    Good.

    I think I prefer

"Sorry old chap. Better luck next time."

I reread the novel a few years ago, @Mathis1 and it was just as great as I remembered.
Didn't get to finish my commenting last night, though. Got distracted. I may watch another Bond this weekend.

Yes, when you do these 'comment along' you really have to clear the decks, and make sure you dont get interrupted ( in otherwords...when the wife is out!! 🤣🤣)

    QUANTUM OF SOLACE

    Whooooa whooa

    Look in the eye
    phone on the table

    bla bla bla

    another way to die..................

Love the guitar hook that opens and closes this tune.
Underrated theme song, that had this been done today would certainly have won the Oscar.

Craig looks great here, pretty good rendition of Fleming's Bond in the flesh. Only in 2008 rather than 1954, and with blond hair..
Have I mentioned how happy it makes me to see the PPK in this film?

The editing gets flack, but I love it and it's tight running time.
Damn I wish they'd go back to 2 year gaps so once in awhile we'd get a tight fast paced action thriller like this one.
The writer's strike caused problems, but for me I think it's an asset. Filmmakers got creative on this entry.
Sometimes I think a Bond film can be over written. The newest one for instance.

Bond on scaffolding firing directly at the camera.
That's close enough to a gunbarrel moment.

    LONDON

I love the location card fonts.

    Two seconds later...........

I love the fight with Slate.

    Half second later.................

Yay it's Camille! My favorite Craig era Bond girl.

    It's unattractive.

I think I saw this one 7 or 8 times in the cinema.
Each subsequent Craig film I saw less:
    SF five times
    SP four
    NTTD three times.

Gregg Beam is one of my favorite characters.
His scenes never fail to put a smile on my face.

We should just deal with NICE people.
I've been trying to work that line into my regular life for 14 years now.

I sorely miss David Arnold and lament this missed opportunities the last three films could've had with his presence.

I maybe wouldn't go that far but I do really like Another Way to Die, it's got such an anarchic energy to it that fits perfectly for the movie it's in and the time it was released. And mouthfuls though they may be, 'Another ringer with the slick trigger finger for her Majesty', 'Another bill from a killer turn a thriller to a tragedy', 'Another dirty money heaven sent honey turning on a dime' are great lyrics, even 'Shoot 'em up, bang bang.' I like for bringing a little bit of silliness to a very serious film.

Quite true. Always liked the lyrics in this song. Very entertaining.

Towards the climax. Used to be one of my least favorites, but I love it now.

Oh, I love the climax of QOS. From Bond explaining to Camille how to kill,to the cool shot of Bond dropping down onto the jeep as it reverses, to that fabulous shot of the explosion that Greene narrowly escapes, to the tense scene with Bond and Camille trapped in the fire, and Bonds final confrontation with Greene! One of the strongest finales of the series! And then theres that terrific epilogue with Yusef and the Canadian agent!

There is much here that is among the strongest in the series.
