My Bond break may be short lived. Just tested positive for Covid so I'll be isolating for 5 days.............inevitabily watching movies. Bond'll turn up soon.

Sorry to hear this, but hopefully, it will be just a mild case.

A mini Bond marathon, perhaps? Or catching up with some of the soundtracks?

Get well soon mate. Have you read the Bond comics? They can be a good break from the films when you still want that 007 fix. You can read em online. Solstice is my favourite. Although it's a short story, it's quite satisfying.

Always loved the comics- some I thought might've made for good films.

I may pop in some of the Fleming bio pics.

Looking forward to reading more of your "comments as you watch"

    CASINO ROYALE (1967)

Bill Holden is an icon. Many icons in this film, one happens to be playing Bond. I do think Niven could've shaved his mustache, though.
The great John Huston as M. Amazing.
Everyone has a costume change within seconds.

I love Bond driving his Bentley.
Deborah Kerr is great. Niven is constanty likable.

Craig's Bond had M's bulldog thingy, Niven has M's toupee.

Beautiful colors and great sets in this film.

For the longest time, back in the VHS days I never felt the need to purchase this one as a completist. My copy had been taped from the ENCORE station circa 1994.
I actually first saw this film around 3rd grade on television during a Sunday afternoon.
I thought Niven made as convincing a Bond as he had Dracula. I far more appreciate him today.

Deborah Kerr attempts to seduce Bond while he's wearing an atrocious outfit. Cap and all.

I love Deborah Ker, but now I'm thinking, my favorite actress Lana Turner could've played this role.

Here comes a goofy bit with the ball tossing.

    Allen is pretty silly here.
    Love the M office set.

I love Eva Green, but Ursula may be my favorite Vesper now.

Evelyn Tremble is played as a dork transforming into Bond. Great stuff here with Ursula, my new favorire Vesper.

What's not to love about CR'67? While the plot is a mess, you do have Ursula Andress, Joanna Pettet, Daliah Lavi and Barbara Bouchet in the same film! You have a great score by Burt Bacharach and some really nice (and expensive) set designs.

I should do another obnoxious ranking and put this in at number 3 or something.

    Well, I wouldn't go that far! :))

I'll freely admit, that along with YOLT, OHMSS and CR, I listen to the soundtrack for CR'67 a great deal.

The music is excellent. I find it more memorable than the last 3 Eon scores.

I tend to forget Vladek Sheybal is in this.

@ToTheRight. Part of what makes the score so memorable is that parts of it got repurposed for TV ads in the late 1960s and early 1970s. You might remember those Drake cup cake ads...

    Haha! Great stuff.

Bisset is amazing. Too bad she's not in an Eon film.

That she is, but Joanna Pettet is the real "what if?" for me.

I'm so glad Dave Prowse as the Frankenstein Monster here isn't green.
One of my pet peeves is the Frankenstein Monster commonly depicted as green. The Max Factor greasepaint Jack Pierce used on The Monster in the original Universal films was "sky gray". it's a blue/gray shade that kinda looks greenish.
He later used the same greasepaint on CREATION OF THE HUMANOIDS (1962).

    This film gets it right.

My favorite James Bond death scene.
