Bond is being a bit of an a$shole when he suggests he and Felix go fishing after Leiter's shark attack. Then he has the nerve to kiss Lupe in front of Pam. He also doesn't give two effs that his nice black dinner suit gets ruined by jumping in the pool.
This is the Bond I know and love.

If nothing else, the Dalton era gave us great "end of film" songs. "If You Asked Me To" is one of my favorite Bond tracks.

But if you asked me to
I just might change my mind
And let you in my life forever
    If you asked me to
I just might give my heart
And stay here in your arms forever
    If you asked me to
    If you asked me to

    I always liked it.

Truman-Lodge is my favorite annoying character in the entire Bond franchise.
    No contest.

    Pam got a makeover.
After leaving the bank, she then took Bond to the salon she frequented........with disaterous results.

500 kilos! I knew they'd go fot it!
    Truman-Lodge gets excited.

You want annoying characters...watch GE! 🤣

Dalton really throws away the "Bond, James Bond" in this one.
Sometimes I think that's fine, though. No need to make a big production out of it.

Dalton got some criticism for the way he said it in the pts of TLD! But I love the way he says it then, and here, just naturally, not forced ( Hello Brossa!!) It makes you convinced he IS James Bond!

Sometimes I think there's a lot of pressure on Bond actors to give us a DR NO quality delivery of that line, and in a few films it does feel forced. I do like that Connery had different variations in his tone as did Craig.

Well it's SUPERBOWL SUNDAY, which sad to say fell on MAUD ADAMS' birthday today.
Sorry, I'm watching THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN instead.

    Great Bondless PTS.
Christopher Lee has remained my all time favorite actor for exactly 40 years, and 6 months.
Let's see if I can up the film in my rankings with this viewing............

One of my favorite title sequences. Binder at his most naughty perhaps?

Bond is the only one who doesn't seem worried that Scaramanga has targeted him.

I love the dressing room fight.
Roger Moore looks great in this one.

.......unless of course The Bottoms Ups is a strip club........and Scaramanga is performing there.

    :D
    Classic!

The NFL may need James Bond's services to protect the officials after this game. :D

I must say the old SE DVD from 2000 is quite saturated in it's colors.
It's kind of odd to think the Lowery transfers have been the norm for so long now.
I remember when the films were digitally remastered in 1992 on VHS for the 30th anniversary.
I double dipped and rebought all of the films just for the new transfers.

The Chula fight is pretty funny.

Hip...........the greatest character in cinema history.

Sheriff JW Pepper is pretty obnoxious. More power to him.

Scaramanga is not too bothered that Bond escaped.
Easily my favorite Roger Moore era villain.

I love Bond's introduction to Scaramanga at the fights. Another good scene. I took a moment to switch discs and put in the Blu-ray for comparison. Much brighter transfer.
    How's the charm boy doing?
Hip thinks it's funny that Mary Goodnight is angry with Bond.

    Hip effs up yet again.

Hip makes Sheriff JW Pepper look like Albert Einstein.

Bond and Hip make a great team............but Bond and JW Pepper make and even better team.

I love Goodnight's WTF expression when Pepper speaks to her on the walkie talkie.

I think Peter Murton did an excellent job on the production design for this film. Massively underrated, IMO.
    Great sets!

This year will be the anniversary of OP and NSNA. I plan to watch Rogs 6th film later in the year near the actual date. But I am going to watch Seans return to Bond, which was meant to coincide with EONs release but got pushed forward to December!
