As a 60's Pop Art comedy I don't mind it, even though it's a utter bloated mess :)) Sellers and Andres scenes are decent.
No gun barrel though Mendes attempts an impressionist version of it, the fade in shot is rather good.
I hate the score almost immediately, though I do appreciate the Russian dolls opening.
The money is definitely on the screen.
The pre title sequence does not have the punch of the previous two films, though SF pre title is arguably one of the best parts of the movie.
When Bond uses the motorcycle to launch himself onto the train, that's pretty awesome.
Train sequences are always great in... well any movie.
Has Moneypenny had any weapons training :\
M has a complete lack of faith in Bond getting the job done [-( 'take the bloody shot!' really in that scene M does not listen to Moneypenny and piles the pressure on her gr. Moneypenny clearly states she is aiming at Bond wtf!
Bond shooting shadows in the title sequence is good, don't mind this title sequence not a fan of Adele though it's a tolerable title track.
Think of your sins - your son is not in HK
Interesting fan theory and it works metaphorically.
Bond has shrapnel in his body and its appears to be not causing infection.
Never good when I think I rather be watching DAD than this pretentious drivel.
Craig is in good shape respect for that.
Skyfall... Bonds response 'Done' weak attempt to create mystery and drama on the writers part, later in the film Bond clearly does not give a... about Skyfall.
The cinematography is superb.
During periods in SF I forget I am watching a Bond film, the score certainly the incidental music is poor.
The Shanghai sequence is good, looks great on 4K TV, Bond hanging from the lift and what follows is very Hitchcockian great sequence.
'who are you working for?' :-O
Bérénice Marlohe oh my!
Bond and Moneypenny :|
Cringe worthy Dialogue.
Switched Skyfall off, The Living Daylights on love the score to this film.
Also, enjoy the company of Daylights. Hell of a Bond thriller! :D
The contrast between the films is alot, I like Craig in his first two though soon as I saw Dalton in the pre titles of TLD I thought this is far more fun than the dreary SF.
Haha, that's pretty much how I feel about Skyfall myself. But there are some good bits after Silva's entrance (some of the running around the tube, the enquiry scene, the rooftop with MP and finale in M's office)—just not as many as in the first half.
Love the sniper scene in TLD, Dalton looks awesome.
In terms of not liking it, I'd say we're still in the minority. Most seem to love it, or at least enjoy it enough to deem it solid and rewatchable.
Superb debut by Dalton has good intensity in his potryal you believe he could kill at any moment.
He can frame a shot well though there is no kinetic energy with Mendes, his films look great though feel too deliberate. Problem is they were successful to mass audience and made alot of money, Eon may continue in this direction because of that.
:-S
Consistent brilliance from John Barry.
Pretenders awesome, the Necros attacks scene is excellent.
Dalton deserved more films if circumstances had permitted, TLD looks very good upscaled ^:)^
Watching Dalton I am thinking how lucky we have been with the casting of Bond, all the actors brought something and four of the actors were very good.
A few optional extras installed, typical John Glenn set piece ensues.
Bonds reaction to Saunders death is one of the best moments in the series.
Dalton is a God taking sentimentality out of the equation (I love Roger Moore) Dalton is the second best Bond behind Connery.
Worst Felix
Kara is pathetic one of the worst in the series
The film slows down in Afghanistan though has some fantastic shots.
Cringe! some dodgy exposition from Bond regarding Yorgi's intentions with the diamonds and opium.
Kara falls of a horse and turns into Burt Reynolds :-O
This currently sits in #10 which is an all-time low actually, with TWINE above it and TSWLM below it.
This area of my ratings between 9-22 always shuffles...lets see...let battle commence gentlemen.
This is why i think it was 1 film too early for Dalton, this should have been his 3rd film ,after a more GoldenEye like 2nd film,to warm him to the public....shame.
Followed by that look on Krest's face where he KNOWS he's screwed. No way to explain that one plausibly.
Dario would cut your heart out instantly.
Heller would blow you apart.
Trueman-Lodge would change your accounts and make you bankrupt etc etc.
