why on earth did they let Wai Lin run around with 2 machine guns. One would make sense, and she wouldn't be constantly perforating the roof.

Carver's henchmen are eager to leave. Abandoning ship whilst she's still afloat.

The end fight with stampfer is.. .well... rather nonsensical.

    In memory of Cubby.

enjoyed it more than I'd expected, but it's not a very good movie. Brosnan actually does a good job, as does Michelle, and definately Price. The plot just has too many gaping holes, and Terry Hatcher was not an inspired choice.

It was actually a lot of fun, writing down my thoughts as I watched the film. Maybe I can do another one soon.

The interview with Robert Davi on the Spyhards Podcast got me in the mood for LICENCE TO KILL.

500 Kilos. I knew they'd go for it.

I love the casino sequence. I saw this Bond epic 11 times in the cinema summer of '89.
    I loved every frame.

    Controversial opinion:
I love Timothy's hair in these scenes.
I just would've trimmed around the ears and probably tapered the neck. Closer to the way it was cut in THE ROCKETEER.

    Yay, it's Q!

I remember saving up the $89.95 for the VHS release date on January 4th 1990.
I watched that VHS countless times.

I love the bit with Krest blowing up.
I'm actually watching the old SE dvd from 2000, so this version is the US release edit.
I think it flows better, actually.

Lupe had time to change her nail polish between the time Sanchez sends her off and she returns to Bond's room.

Yeah. Unless you were around then, it's hard to believe that we paid so much for pre-recorded VHS tapes, but we did. Ironically, the less popular the film, the more expensive it was.

My first Bond VHS tape was DAF - purchased in May 1982 for around $65. I still have it for sentimental reasons. Next up was OP. But here I managed to talk the manager down in price. :D

The first VHS movie my Dad bought was OP. It was $20 used and came in a big plastic rental case. They had another copy with the cover art, but for whatever reason we went with the rental copy.

The same with me. In 1984, for OP I got the store manager to give me a new tape but in a used box.

My DAF 1982 VHS box looked something like this. A kind of "tray" format that was used by 20th Century Fox back then (IIRC).

Interestingly, I just pulled it off my bookcase and I noticed that I didn't rewind it - but it isn't at the end of the tape. I wonder where I stopped the playback all those years ago?

I remember on one of the transfers of DAF from that era the first chord of the gunbarrel music was lost. So the gunbarrel started a couple seconds late.

In honor of Sir Roger's birthday I'm watching
    A VIEW TO A KILL.

These young kids I work with have been raving about Bond ever since Global James Bond Day.
    They absolutely LOVE our hero.
Only catch, they've never actually seen a Bond movie. they just know what I tell them.
I shouldn't call them kids. They're between 19 and about 27. I'm as old as Roger Moore now.

I'm at the Eiffel Tower sequence.
I really like Roger Moore's hair in this one.

    OOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

    I've been waiting for that.
