  Just perusing all these various photo links of Cavill as Solo. He not only perfectly looks the part. He also seems to be finding Vaughn like facial expressions.
  Cavill as Bond: As much as I would have supported Cavill as Bond back in 2006 or anytime prior to being cast as Solo, I can't any more. I don't want the same actor playing both Bond and Solo. That's crazy.
  Bond is just going to have find its own young (28-33 please) tall, dark, and handsome new lead.

  Preparations are underway for the Special Forces assault on the villains lair.
  
  
  Now it's looking like Thursday will be a big day on set. That's when the area between the pier and the dock of Pozzuoli will reportedly become a movie set. Cars and pedestrians will be kept at a distance and even fishermen will be escorted in and out of the area. The ferries will continue to run as normal, but there will be tight security on set. Police & the Coast Guard will be patrolling the water, and they'll even have a team of divers with them to make sure the area is secure during filming. Not only that, Warner Bros. has also reportedly hired a private security service to watch over the set. The scenes will be shot rain or shine.
  This set is expected to involve about 400 people, including actors and production workers. Henry, Armie, and Hugh Grant are supposed to be there. Stay tuned for updates as we get them.

  My guess is that it's his photo double working with the 2nd unit crew. Still, it does give you a sense of the films classic 60's spy-fi vibe.

  It looks like the UNCLE crew is following in the footsteps of several episodes from the original series and has moved to Rome. Has Bond ever gone to Rome? Venice, yes....Rome??????

  Yes, Waverly was one of five UNCLE section one members and no Robert Vaughn and David McCallum did not create the series. That honor would have gone to Norman Felton, Sam Rolfe and Ian Fleming.

  I will take the liberty of tooting Laneybogg's horn. Laney found (and Tweeted about) this Oct. 4 Birmingham Mail story, where Robert Vaughn voices approval of Henry Cavill playing Solo (Vaughn's old role, of course). Vaughn also says he's gotten some "feelers" about doing a cameo for the movie:

  The UNCLE passage is a ways in the story. Again, I only came across it because Laney Tweeted about it.

  Some have mentioned that Cavil looks a little bulky for the part; He may have no choice; Superman/Batman has already begun filming. No doubt he will go straight from this to that.

  Begun filming? They're only filming crowd reactions for a football match but I agree, Cavill does look too bulky but you're right, after UNCLE he has to get back into superman shape in preparation for filming the sequel.

  Yes the are filming crowd scenes but the process of putting on the muscle that he need to play Superman does not go on overnight. I don't know the time-frames here but if he's going to go straight from Uncle to Superman/Batman he would not have the time to do that between productions. I have no doubt that he has certain stipulations in his contract that dictate he be in shape at whatever time production begins.
