@KamalKhan The Cassandra Crossing in an epic story, a little sad also. Worth watching even if only for Sophia Loren. Suspenseful and quite dramatic, haven't seen it in years though
The end, when the disaster happens, and the bridge is out and the train goes down, can be quite a harrowing watch actually

Yep. I discovered it by accident a few years ago on the TCM movie channel. Despite the mediocre reviews I'd heard of it, I decided to give it a chance and found myself drawn in. You're right about it being both quite suspenseful and sad. Definitely an underrated entry in the 1970s cycle of disaster films so I was glad to pick it up for less than $2.00. And Sophia, as always, greatly enhances its watchability.

It take a couple of years and longer then with my dvd player buying, but finaly i jone the BD club too.

    Sony BDP S490 - 3D Blueray Player

    http://www.sony.nl/product/blu-ray-disc-player/bdp-s490

    DVD: Regio 2.
BD: Regio B, Regio Free or Regio B and A. Package said Regio B and website said it play NTCS (old term for R1 DVD's, litle bit confusing because with BD NTSC & Pall not exist any more.) , but the BD symbol on the player is emty. Some sites claimd it be Regio B (R2,R4, R5 mixed.) and A (R1 and R3 mixed.).
USB: 2 (one on the front and one the back)
    HDMI: 1

    176084.jpeg

Include Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows part 1 and part 2 in 3D with D2 also. I haven't open them yet but i don't expect it be the 3 disc editions, but i hope it be and if not those extra's from the bonus disc are spread on both disc's. Also there is no sleeve with this version. The version in the stores have sleeves and also the backcover art from the inside BD package without the sleeve is difrent. Myne versions have some cover and package mistakes i discover. One of those things that above it said Bluray logo whyle the one with sleeve yuse extra 3D symbol. I think it are Belgium versions.

    552ybc.jpg

It go between this one, the 480 and 790. The 490 shared the player guide with the 590 and the only difrence is that one have Wi-Fi or something. The 790 have this too with 2 HDMI things on the back. Last Sunday i whas in the local store and saw this one and the Harry Potter BD's be nice exta. The price whas € 34,00 more then the online price and the guy don't have his day so go home without anything. 2 days later whas delievering. The HDMI cabel and some other thing are underway and cost me € 20,00. So total for € 124,90 and i get € 30,00 from my brother. Iam not hurry at this moment for buying a 3D tv.

Yesterday i try to find Harry Potter 6 and hoped to buy Salt and 2 disc of Inception but those be for another day. (Months back those 2 titels be € 10,00 2 for 15,00 and now there ask € 12,99 for Salt. Inception not seen. Harry Potter gone.) But yesterday spotted but today i buy the 3 disc SE edition (2 disc SE BD + dvd) of Iron Man 2 for € 9,10, before it is gone and get a re-release without bonus disc and dvd. For the 2 disc SE dvd of the first movie i pay € 6,00 (in 2009) and if imagine the dvd is € 4,00 (the maxium price i have paid include keepcase.) i pay € 5,10 for the 2 BD.

    1002004010209066.jpg

This Iron Man 2- 3 disc SE edition is i think at this moment the best BD example, how there release a BD, because it is released with a bonus BD from the start. MGM should for the BD release of the new QOS take example to this BD . If there is something to inprove then it have been nice if there have released with a sleeve and booklet/chapter fyler. Transformers 3 is 3 disc too (if i don't count the 3D disc.) but not release from the start, but atleast have a sleeve. Transformers 3 - 4 disc wil be for another time too.

The other 2 titels who i already own before the player and i won be Death Race DC (A good reasen why iam happy with the BD Live 2.0 function on the player), who i already have since 2009 and 2D version of A Chrismis Carel 2009 since 2010.

    1002004006461591.jpga_chistmas_carol_bd.jpg

Stil there be some titels i have not intrest to buy on BD because of continuation (tv series)
, package (Casino Royale, Wanted, Benjamin Bottom.) or to expensive. I hope to win inspecial for titels who not yet be released or not yet in boxsets who i never think about to buy on dvd. Then in specialy i mean Batman and Superman. Mabey also some Regio free American BD with Dutch subtitels if i spot them.

    The Incredible Hulk Returns

    5035822270893.jpg
Black Hawk Down - 3 disc SE (R2UK include Dutch Subtitels)
Disc 1 and Disc 2 be simalar to the Dutch 2 disc SE and Disc 3 is simalar to the 3 disc SE of France http://dvdinfo.be/bespreking.php?id=710 (Dutch review).

Litle update on Harry Potter 7 & 8 BD's: it is indeed a 2 disc set for each of the movies, but the first disc in this set don't have any extra's. I doubt or the 3D disc have them. A bit strange because audio and subtitels are the same as the first disc disc in the normal 2 disc SE and 3 disc 3D Combopack (2 disc SE + 3D). I expect disc 1 of one of those sets and disc 3 of the 3 disc set in this set. So what i win be 3D version of the movie for later and can watch the movie in 2D, but must stil be the 2 disc SE BD or DVD to get the extra's.

Don't know if you would call it a movie, but I bought the 'I Am Bruce Lee' documentary on DVD, a good solid documentary, but I could have done without the input from 'famous' people who weren't even born when Bruce was doing his thing. Would have been nice to see more clips of his childhood films and some behind the scenes stuff on his martial arts films. Get rid of the talking head buffoons, (not Dan Inosanto and such) and the mixed martial arts section (redundant) and concentrate on those five films that are his legacy.
Some nice background stuff on his early days in America though.

I normally buy DVDs instead of Blu Rays because I'm a tight dick, but I had to get these when I saw it. Love these films, great trilogy. Antonio Bandereas is a badass.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't think you can get all 3. I got the El Mariachi/Desperado mashup and then Once Upon a Time In Mexico seperately. I think the pic was fan made, I just thought it looked cool and it was better posting that than posting 2 seperate pictures. No idea why they don't release all 3 films in one set though.

@thelivingroyale, it's fine, and neither do I. I'd like to get them all separately - I'm really OCD about stuff like that, and for some reason, it would bother me having all three in one case, anyway - but I can't find separate copies.

In the Netherlands, where I live, there's a set with all three together. The cover art looks like that, and I own it :)

It seems like only a couple of countries have this set: The Netherlands, Italy, France

It wasn't the last movie I bought, but I got around to watching it again recently. The Hurt Locker is brilliant. It's fair to say I have a man-crush on Jeremy Renner.

My girlfriend picked up 'The Silence of the Lambs' on blu-ray for me the other day, and I plan on heading back to home after college starts up to take a look at the deals at Best Buy and pick up some new films. I need to splurge one day soon and just let loose with the money I have. Looking to pick up some older Bond blu-rays, as well.

I went shopping for college on this day, and hit a TREASURE trove of movie goodness. You'll get that joke in a minute:

As a Mitchum fan, that's one i've not seen yet.

^ Unlike the previous Dors double-bill from Adelphi / BFI, this one isn't DVD/BD dual format.

I have been meaning to get into Mitchum's filmography, and thought it was a good way to start again. I have seen a couple of his noirs, and love them. He is a good Marlowe, only second to Bogie of course. If I can find The Maltese Falcon on Blu-ray I can die a happy man.

I've never seen the Bogie films. And even though Farewell My Lovely features Charlotte Rampling, it's The Big Sleep that I prefer of the two. My current Mitchum ranking looks like this...

    1. The Big Sleep (1978)
    2. The Red Pony (1949)
    3. The Friends Of Eddie Coyle (1973)
    4. The Big Steal (1949)
    5. His Kind Of Woman (1951)
    6. The Yakuza (1974)
    7. Rampage (1963)
    8. Farewell My Lovely (1975)
    9. Two For The See Saw (1962)
    10. Ryan's Daughter (1970)
    11. Cape Fear (1962)
    12. The Amsterdam Kill (1977)
    13. The Enemy Below (1957)
    14. Nightkill (1980)
    15. El Dorado (1966)
    16. Fire Down Below (1957)
    17. Angel Face (1952)
    18. Thompson's Last Run (1986)

    21. Anzio (1968)
    22. Promises To Keep (1985)
    23. Agency (1980)

I picked up 'Cowboys & Aliens' at Wal-Mart last night: training is hard, and while I didn't want to spend $20 on the film, it was enjoyable enough for me to indulge and spend the money for a blu-ray copy of it. I've been debating getting 'The Seven Year Itch' on blu-ray, but it's only $10 at Wal-Mart and such an incredible experience. I think I may the next time I'm in.

Didn't wait much from it. Didn't get much from it. It was a bit 'meh'.

you won't be disappointed its the only film Charles Laughton directed, heavily influenced by German expressionism. the film is a masterpiece.
