Utah tourist Kurt Cochran named as victim
Kurt Cochran, from Utah, died and his wife Melissa was critically injured.
The couple were visiting her parents who work at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints mission in London.
No change, and yes the bridge is open and being used as we speak .
An Army veteran who was among the first on the scene of the Westminster attack has told how he tried to save the life of murdered police officer Keith Palmer.
Tony Davis, who is now a GB Boxing coach, jumped over a barrier and tried to intervene moments after the officer was attacked.
Davis, from Darlington, told ITV’s This Morning he was leaving parliament following a press event with a group of boxers when he saw the attack taking place.
There were people running, coming round towards the gate.
All of a sudden I saw a large chap brandishing two knives come through the gates and start attacking the policeman.
At that point instinct kicked in, I leaped over the fence because that guy needed assistance.
The police were holding their ground and that is when poor Keith got attacked. You start moving back with adrenaline pumping in.
t this point the assailant was coming towards us and I recall out of the corner of my eye one of the marksmen coming out and putting three rounds in him.
Masood, aged 52, was born in Kent and detectives believe he was most recently living in the West Midlands.
Masood was not the subject of any current investigations and there was no prior intelligence about his intent to mount a terrorist attack, police say.
However, he was known to the police and had a range of previous convictions for assaults, including GBH, possession of offensive weapons and public order offences.
He has not been convicted of any terrorism offences.
Members of the capital's religious communities gathered at Scotland Yard on Thursday afternoon.
A-level students Tyler Chapperley-Russell and Will Robins met PC Keith Palmer while on a college trip to London last year.
They were taking photos around the Palace of Westminster when they noticed PC Palmer was behind them and he joined in.
They described the Met officer as ''highly professional'' and ''not your typical police officer''.
Yes, there is the fear of copycat low-tech attacks like this and the one in Belgian where a soldier's gun was grabbed. Knives and a car were all that were needed by that lunatic yesterday for instance.
twitter My Arse perhaps you will think twice before you post anything again eh Mendes .
I had the same thoughts yesterday. That's why I posted the picture I made on the bridge last September.
It is an iconic place if I may say so. Featured in so many films as you said. And in Spectre very prominently of course.
It deeply saddens me what happened in London, or Berlin, or Nizza, or Brussels and other places.
Luckily Switzerland never suffered from this new wave of terrorism that has the world hostage since 9/11. But as an army officer, I would not hesitate doing my job if it was demanded. The Swiss Army would be on the streets if terrorism would happen.
The British are brave people and they will not falter or surrender to terrorism. NEVER.
The cowardly acts done with vehicles and trucks is the latest low of terrorism. Now it seems on crowed parts of towns, Bollards have to be installed to prevent cars or trucks from driving to boardwalks or crowded squares etc.
But where does it stop. How much are we willing to give up of our freedom to be a little safer?
Another picture taken by me last September. The people in the London Eye had to be there for over an hour I believe. Imagine how they must have felt.
I can't wait to be in London this September for 10 days. I will be on that bridge again, and commemorating the victims.
However, claiming that the people who carry out these attacks would find another source of motivation to kill people is also nonsense.
Several religions instruct or compel people to commit heinous crimes.
I was in s hotel the other day and out of boredom picked up the Gideon bible. The page fell open at Deuteronomy. The first paragraph/chapter/verse I read spoke about how any woman who loses her virginity out of marriage is to be stoned to death on the doorstep of her fathers house.
Where is the 'metaphor' here. Where is the moral teaching? Lunatic claptrap written by ignorant people's thousands of years ago that have no plane in the modern world.
Sure you can pick and choose the bits you like (I find this massively hypocritical) like a greedy man with a large plate at a buffet, but there is always someone who acts upon this instruction
Islam is currently where Christianity was about 5-600 years ago in terms of reformation. We've fought off the oppression of the church in Western Europe and as such enjoy freedom that seems like a pipe dream to many people in the Middle East
That sounds fantastic
If they do that AGAIN then thats that, especially after yesterday .
Don't encourage it.
And yes, we should leave London alone for a change.
Additionally, there was a small clip that was shown on tv yesterday of Theresa May being whisked away in a silver Jaguar Jaguar XJ L with the sirens flashing in the grill followed by a black Sport Utility Vehicle. That scene reminded me very much of M's arrival at the scene of the explosion and also her escape with Bond from the courthouse.
Eerie similarities.
Some of you need to grow up and show some respect, this is NOT a fucking BOND SCENARIO....you disgust me.
Im tempted to leave here altogether after seeing this..i have DVD's of Bond, thats all the fix i need if this is the future on here..i dont need to hear this when British and one American (yes American members, feel proud ,discussing a Bond scenario ? ) people have been killed or injured.
Oh,and we lost another victim,a 75 year old man tonight,if you bothered to check.
Sadly, there will probably be more deaths to come. So I'm sure a little respect and
Solidarity would be appreciated by all.
The Deuteronomy quote only refers to Israelites at that time of redemptive history. The 'moral' teaching is that God's people must obey him. Which we can't. Which is why we need Jesus.
I honestly don't see what the big deal is. Bond is about realism and escapism coalescing into one, to create a great story. I'm merely saying that if the UK is (one of many) nations attacked as a result of a villanous plot, tied to - potentially - a sitting foreign leader, it would make for a great film that we can relate to.
The Bond novels are dark, gritty, and edgy. With all the violence and rape that occurs in the books, Fleming never held back in his writing. The same should go for the films. Let's see something really dark. Something that gives Bond and his allies a feeling of purpose. The world is feeling pretty hopeless at the moment. Allow Bond an opportunity to make the last big stand, showing that hate may sometimes win, but justice and good will always prevail.
So, this isn't a Bond scenario, but tying 9/11 into Casino Royale is? Perhaps it's my numbness from the country I live in, where these acts of violence occur frequently, but please, give me a break. My heart and most profound condolences go out to the wonderful City of London. But fiction is fiction. Its imagination. Make believe. Drawn from reality - that which is good and bad.
Don't take it personally. No one is bashing London or the UK. From each event that happens in real life, we may very well learn hard, yet necessary lessons in film and other works of fiction.
