This is the same administration that began, from the start, wiping facts from many agencies (climate change scientific data, for example, was removed and certain words like "global warming" were not allowed to be published any more). The taking away of actual facts, accurate historical documentation of government actions, altering texts, is nothing new for the Trump administration.

They have also stopped sharing phone records of who Trump is talking to (other nation's heads of govt, etc.). It all ties together, a secretive noose. But I think they do not realize that American citizens are more aware now and the noose is on them, and tightening - not on our entire country. We still have a tough road ahead, but there is progress.

Here's this as related to above comments. Yes, different versions were put out.

Trump administration and Putin are a tap dancing, tag team and it would be amusing in a way, because it is so obvious (they are so bad at trying to hide their actual intent and actions), if it were not a serious threat to the U.S. But it is.
  • Progress indeed. A district court judge has just ruled that the emoluments case against Trump can go forward: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-emoluments-clause_us_5b58bbb5e4b0de86f492ca16

Republicans move against Rosenstein now. Articles of impeachment filed - trying to remove him. Please note:

Only 11 Republicans signed onto this. It does not have enough Republican support at all. But it is notable they took this step.

So I could be lead to believe Trump is bad?
Not being an Anerican I guess I can't comment.
Are your (US) Senators or congressman not just as accountable as Trump?

If you'd read a variety of news sources, you could certainly draw a conclusion and that would not be in agreement with Fox news (Trump propaganda outfit). Just as accountable, yes.

Our govt has 3 branches, co-equal and to hold each other in check.
It is not working well at the moment as a significant portion of our Congress has been allowing far too much that is detrimental to our country, and continuing to allow the president to have his way often enough to become genuinely alarming.

So those three branches - executive, legislative, and judicial - were created to provide checks and balances, so that not any single one of them could rule absolutely (putting that in my own simple terms).

At the moment, Congress is controlled by the GOP, as is the executive (obviously), and the Judicial branch also has a majority of GOP members. Within the GOP there are ranges of conservatives and certainly not all support Trump. But the majority are mostly stalling, doing nothing, letting things get derailed and appeasing Trump ... that is where the big WHY question comes in.

Yes, our Congress is not doing its job correctly, to be succinct about it.
WHY that is happening is not completely clear yet, but various theories abound.

They make gestures to cover themselves from repercussions, mostly. Trump in the political cross hairs covers them well though... but the coming storm will not be nice to the fringe right, which is why they are scrambling to protect themselves from either left backlash or right. It's a poker game at this point. Bluff or fold.

Ask these prices of filth who they're heroes are. You won't hear Batman, Bond, Superman, Ghandi, Einstein... no, from Paul Ryan you get Ayn Rand. Trump (I'm guessing) would be Musolini or Putin... imagine living in a world without heroes of good character. Where someone like Vader was as close to a hero as you could get in pop culture... both sad AND scary, eh?

Head of Trump Org. financials subpoenaed. This will yield interesting results.
He goes way back, even worked with Trump's father. He knows plenty of details.

Money laundering. Breaking campaign finance laws. Just those two points; more than enough. Added on top could be obstruction of justice and other acts. I am not worried, long term. I simply hope the damage done in the meantime is not catastrophic.

Mueller knows how to proceed with an airtight case. He has the experience to do this right so that it sticks. I know the process feels agonizingly slow to us, on the outside. But they are working nonstop to get this done. Easy to forget how many high level, experienced people Mueller has working on this investigation.

Oh also the impeachment of Rosenstein was withdrawn (lack of support).

I know Manafort's trial has just started today. And that will yield a ton of good information. The prosecution has so much evidence against him. But ... I simply wanted us to keep this in mind. This is still happening.
