Well in this very narrow description it pointed to the fact that Trump 'is getting things done' in a way that he's exactly doing what he set out to do. This, then, is besides his continuisly lying etc. etc. As said above, I understand the 'fresh wind' some people see in this. Examples are the pulling out of the Paris agreement, supporting the coal industry, opening up Alaska to be des...eh... explored by oil companies, repealing Obamacare, putting travel bans in place, starting a trade war with China.
But as said above it's a very singular view, and allthough appealing to many, it's increadably destructive.
I get that some people see him as "different" and "says what he means" and consider that a good thing. I have to believe by now, those are a minority of Americans. For me, I simply cannot use the word "honest" with Trump. He certainly is putting his own spin on what he considers his accomplishments, such as pulling out of the Paris agreement and obliterating regulations and rules to protect our air, water, and environment. For me, nearly everything Trump considers an accomplishment is actually extremely wrong, and seriously detrimental to my country. Some people still consider him "refreshing" I suppose, but the results of his efforts will be disastrous for many years to come unless things are changed, repaired, reversed, altered, etc. as soon as possible. We can do it; it will take some time and effort and a sweeping change in Congress. I hold Congress accountable very much, not only Trump. The GOP majority has their agenda and reasons why they are continuing to pursue this unhealthy and unAmerican path for what is happening. All presidents list their accomplishments, but this administration is unlike any other in our history and that is not in a good way. Destroying our foundations and stripping our democracy and rights will be the legacy of this president (among other things).
In all my life, I have never looked at either party as truly tainted, evil, or the terrible "bad guys" to put it simply. I disagreed with policies here and there over the years. Nixon was his own unique problem but that is peanuts compared to what is happening now. I would not have believed that many in Congress (not one or two) could be complicit, putting their own selves above our country's welfare. It actually pains me to write that the GOP needs to be held accountable so strongly, that they have chosen to hurt our country - because they have, and are, and this has not happened on this scale before in America. Anyway, what citizens can do is vote and also communicate with our representatives. We will never give up.
I want to add one thing to look out for: voter suppression is already happening and there are various ways that different states' voting machines and reporting could be tampered with. So we need to vote, but we also just as importantly need strong, impartial watchdogs at every voting center in our country. If you scan the news, you will find various reports about this issue.
Yes. Read THIS! And if you still think Trump is okay, then you have no Bondian sensibilities. He is a stupid Blofeld wannabe.
I loved that article, read it last week.
How crazy and dysfunctional.
On hyappier news, let me congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for their future blessed event.
Saudi govt now claiming yes they meant to kidnap him, interrogate him, but did not plan to murder him. But ... a 15 member team, including a bone saw specialist, were sent by them.
and cleaners of some sort ...
Trump had just said Oh perhaps it was "rogue killers" but the Saudi govt have stepped in and said it was them. Just an "oops" mistake that he was actually killed. Tortured. Dismembered.
According to some obscure internet rule this whole topic thread is now null and void. You said the "H" word.
Oh no, with a little digging you can find out how bad he is. The difficult topic is: how rotten has the entire Republican party become? Hint: check into Russian $$$ being donated to the NRA, and then funneled to various Republican officeholders like Mitch McConnel, Devin Nunez etc... and THEN connect the dots to figure out why they're doing some of the atrocious things they're doing.
I'm not sure there is an obscure rule about it. I think it's just common sense that a person probably shouldn't be comparing an incompetent POTUS to an insane dictator who systematically murdered 12-14 million people. Kind of a stupid and offensive thing to do, actually. Glad you avoided it.
Hitler started small too, just to tell ya.
And while I'm at it, many of you complaining about Trump ruining US politics are forgetting that his presidency is the product of the it, not the creator of it.
As someone who know clerks from three local municipalities, what they have to go through, and the long list of procedures they have set in place and follow to prevent tampering of machines, ballots, etc, I take some offense to that. Granted, the state I live in is a leader in preserving the integrity of the electoral system. There are representatives of either political party that observe the process and act as watchdogs.
Yes, that "obscure internet rule" does indeed exist. It's called "Godwin's Law" and here's a link to Godwin himself explaining why (in his opinion) it is perfectly acceptable to use it in times (and circumstances) like these: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-intersect/wp/2017/08/14/the-creator-of-godwins-law-explains-why-some-nazi-comparisons-dont-break-his-famous-internet-rule/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.fb772f86a30a
No, Trump himself hasn't killed anyone -- he's too much of a chicken$#!+ to do the dirty work himself -- but he has certainly made it much more acceptable for his minions to do that sort of thing and if you need a reminder, then just look up the name Heather Heyer. Or just consider the thousands of children who have been ripped from their parents' arms under the orders of Herr Gropenfuhrer.
Just don't get me started or I'll commence providing links to some of the more egregious examples of voter suppression currently being attempted by the Republican Party. The Secretary of State/wanna-be governor in Georgia springs to mind most immediately, refusing to process some 50,000 voter registrations in predominantly black areas... or the law just ratified by the Kavanaugh Court under which thousands of Native Americans are being denied the right to vote because THEIR RESERVATIONS DON'T INCLUDE STREET ADDRESSES THE WAY SOME WHITE FOLKS THINK THEY OUGHTA. You wanna take offense, Mr. Stock? That's where your offense should start, or else it is a hollow pretense.
As far as the actual machines, there could be issues. Certainly the people supposed to be there in person, watching carefully, needs to happen but we need to make sure that is truthfully happening. So please don't take offense - just make sure that those protection steps are taken. We cannot take any of this for granted. There is no harm in reminding all of us to be diligent. It is, unfortunately, truly needed during all of our next elections.
Too much has been done in the past with suppression and from many reports that is happening already, in a variety of ways.
So this being said: And while I'm at it, many of you complaining about Trump ruining US politics are forgetting that his presidency is the product of the it, not the creator of it.
I simply say that Trump is responsible for the actions and policies of his current administration, no matter how the system is that brought him into power. So yes, he is responsible for much. Sure, Congress and a lot of the media have played a role that is nothing to be proud of at all. But as president, we can look at his own words, actions, and policies and see that of course he is responsible. Whether you find that a rosy, happy, good for America scenario or the destruction of our country is a personal choice, of course.

What a coincidence- I'm an independent as well. And I'd just like to see this fool nipped in the bud... it's not worth 12 - 14 million dead HERE to me for a simple I-TOLD-YOU-SO.
Regarding your examples of voter suppression, I thought I'd share a smidge more to the tweets you cited: In the case of Indiana, they were purging voter registration of deceased persons and those who had moved to another state. In Georgia, you're referencing the "exact match" registration verification process, which requires information on voter applications to precisely match information on file with the Georgia Department of Driver Services or the Social Security Administration. Voters were given 26 months to correct inconsistencies. Nevada did a purge by postcard, resulting in purging registration records of people who had moved. And for North Dakota, the situation involved passage of a voter ID law that requires a physical address where apparently the Native Americans don't have one. Interesting fact with North Dakota - it does not have voter registration.
I don't doubt that there is intent to suppress with some of these scenarios, but on the same token, you can't just have a voter registration list where you only add and never subtract. If you pass away you certainly shouldn't be voting. If you move to another state or municipality, you have no reason to be voting for anyone in your former jurisdiction. Perhaps I'm cynical because I live in a state where you can register on election day.
Honestly, the more impactful voter suppression is suppression of free speech. There's just too much shouting over one another these days and all it does is prevent people from participating at all. And then if they do vote, it's based off of theatrics and (unfortunately) not actual policy. This country would be better off if people stopped relying on memes to justify their preconceived notions and instead participate in open dialouge with opposing views. And by the way, 4EverBond, I want to be clear in saying that I don't think that of you, but rather broadly about US citizenry.
Everybody should simply check, to the best of their ability, within their own state and be diligent. And vote. Voter suppression does happen.
Reading the above it seems they're systematically kept away from voting.
"It's a right wing after all, it's a right wing after all, it's a right, right wing..."
Since Reagan they've upped the game. Greed + hate dominates. Even Obama had to bow to the Military Industrial Complex like a bitch since he had no backup to oppose it. I don't blame him so much as the Industry. Killing people is key, and now killing our environment is key. The operative word here is 'killing.'
So old white guys can make a killing.
Before they die.
Be concerned what these totalitarian directives could mean for the future of the internet....

Yep, and when you oppose a 'United States of Europe' you automatically want world war 3. Interesting research about 'if we'd just talk more to the other side 'thesis beeing key to the polarisation:

It isn't.
But when you read the article you'll find that the short-burst Twitter 'discussion' is, because Twitter messages are too short to find a common ground.......
