You could even say that the word has been hung out to dry.
How dare you suggest that I'm giving M crap? :P
How long have you known about them?
Pretty soon after I started the film series years ago! I couldn’t tell you why I never picked them up before, given I loved all the films and I enjoy reading a good book a lot too. So far I think CR is just awesome. Really loving all of it.
Yes - that is the chapter I have up next. Figured ‘A Whisper of Love, A Whisper of Hate’ was a good stopping point given what happens. One really amazing thing is that I’ve seen the CR movie a hundred times, but even then I have still almost entirely avoided thinking of it in place of this original novel. I’ve created a new movie in my head to fit Fleming’s original novel. The one thing I think of most from the movie to connect to the book actually is the look of Eva Green for Vesper.
Just finished CR. What an experience! So intense and devastating. I look forward to continuing the series!
We’ll see where it lands for me. I’ll rank them along the way for fun.
It was extremely good. Definitely going to be hard to top I think. It was everything I had hoped for and then some.
I’ve heard it’s excellent. Really hyped for that one.
That's my second favorite easily, it's very unique and I'd still love to see a Bond film exactly like that novel (with certain tweaks made so there's no overlapping of already existing moments, characters, etc.). You're in for a damn good time with that one, too.
Finished that one up a week or so back - I thought the former half was a great deal stronger than its film adaptation counterpart, but the latter half was much, much more entertaining and satisfying in the film.
It's so easy to fly through them once you get going. I don't make too much progress on them during the weekdays, but on the weekends it's easy to fly through one a day.
Excellent. If you can do that for the rest of the books (and I'm certain you can), then you are in for a terrifically good time.
