I am fortunate there is a great retro store close to me where I buy a lot of my music from, there are a lot of retro Record, Tape and CD players, some of the tape players are from the sixties and remind me of players we saw in the early Bond films.
I have roughly 70 cassette tapes now, 20 of which are blank for recording. I have quite a few Bond tracks on cassette and a mix tape the analogue mid ranges sound so good.
I have a good pair of Sennheiser and a pair of Sony headphones as well as several other sets that I use for different things gaming, movies etc.
A good set makes all the difference, I sometimes wear my Sony's and a pair of Bluedio UFO's for several hours watching movies so comfort is important. I recently bought some in ear monitors which I have been using the most recently for my Walkmans.
Indeed, remotes are very handy obviously, but hardly necessary.
Haha! I have a saved search on Finn.no (a Norwegian Ebay equivalent, with other services too) for all kinds of vintage audio gear, and I've been close to purchasing another radio/amp more than a few times! It's not something I really need to have, but if the perfect one does pop up, and is in perfect order, I might just get one.
I had a look at these headphones (or a Sony model with a similar look) some time ago. Didn't pull the trigger on purchasing a pair though. They look like really nice headphones!
I need to avoid the shop on Monday if i walk past it, if the radio is still there i may buy it lol I don't need anymore equipment so need to draw a line, bought a load more Cd's recently running out of space again lol

Not music related, but since Christmas I've bought some DVD box sets of Danger Man, The Saint (the colour seasons), The Man From U.N.C.L.E, and last night, the black and white seasons of The Saint. Ideally I would have preferred owning these shows digitally, but since there aren't any options for this in Norway, I decided to get them all while they are still available (I had to get the last box set of The Saint used on Ebay). This means I'm also starting to run out of space again, so I might just have to get rid of some stuff to accommodate these recent purchases.
Great choices I have the complete color DVD boxset of The Saint with Sir Roger and a few U.N.C.L.E DVD's mainly the cobbled together episodes that were made into movies, I loved these shows as a kid, they played on TV often here in the UK.
This past week I bought a Queen album, 2 Beach Boys albums a few of movie soundtracks Good Morning Vietnam and Charlies Angles both have great songs on them and The Good the Bad and the Ugly score which I previously had on cassette. Also ought some Ray Charles and several classical CD's and cassette tapes, my lounge looks like a record store lol
Edited: I also bought Let it Roll George Harrison on CD, I probably bought some others that i have forgot about lol
I'm currently watching the colour episodes of The Saint, but at the pace I'm watching them, as well as Danger Man and U.N.C.L.E, I'll have years of entertainment with these sets :)) I had searched for the U.N.C.L.E. set before, but it was out of print. Listening to an episode of the Spybrary podcast covering the series, I learned that they rereleased the set this year, so I was quick to pick it up. It would be fantastic to own these shows on Blu-ray, like the somewhat recent set of the Mission: Impossible TV series which I also own (and working my way through), but I guess the cost of making Blu-ray sets isn't cheap.
On a Youtube channel I occasionally watch, they had an interview with the exec. producer of a new release of a complete Bonanza set, and answering to the question about why they went with DVD when you have the Blu-ray format (and 4K, obviously) which are far better – and the fact they they theoretically could produce a BR set, he talked about how this wasn't going to pay off for the company; the production cost of restoring these shows are way to high compared to the revenue they could make by selling them. I might be wrong, but with M:I I think they already had the BR quality masters available, which makes things much easier.
That's quite a collection you managed to pick up there! One of my local "used" stores have stared selling used vinyl – and quite a lot of it too, it seems, but there are plenty of other things I should prioritise right now rather than adding to my vinyl collection!
I think that is the hurdle with many older shows getting restored or upscaled... is there a market for them to justify the cost. Also what were the show's originally filmed in, as some upscale's sealing may only be SD quality.
Bonanza has been playing on one of the late night channels I have caught one or two episodes. I recently recorded the entire Six Million dollar series which I need to start watching. i have been watching the Bionic Woman series first which i have almost finished... Jamie Sommers :x
It's a shame that Network Distributing went into liquidation, because they made so many great physical media releases that are now unlikely to happen. Shortly before they went into liquidation, I had signed up for a Blu-ray release of movie versions of two-part episodes of ITC's The Baron – which would likely have led to a full series Blu-ray release if successful.
Bonanza is always shown early in the day during weekends here. With so many episodes, the TV channel that airs the episodes can just keep them running to fill any void in the schedule. Haven't watched much of that show myself, so I'm not sure about the picture quality of the episodes on TV. Bionic Woman was a spinoff of The Six Million Dollar Man, am I right? I've never seen either of the two shows, but I remember at least one of the shows being mentioned on That '70s Show.
Just bought a 65 track Movie soundtrack compilation CD and Bonanza theme is on the Westerns disk, I think it is the only TV theme on there.
Good quality film is the best, movies and TV shot on video or even more recently Digital have there limitations, that's why its so important we have film makers like Nolan.
Yeah Jamie first appeared in the Six Million Dollar Man show as Steve's girlfriend. I won't spoil how the spin off Bionic Woman came about in case you watch the shows at some point. There were also TV movie Spin offs with Jamie and Steve over a decade later.
One of Bionic womans recurring villains were the Fembots, long before they appeared in Ausitin Powers lol
I don't own any movie soundtrack compilation albums myself, but I have a few on various playlists on Spotify. Even though I prefer actual soundtrack albums from the films or TV shows, compilation albums by or featuring various artists can sometimes be very good.
It's kinda funny isn't it, that old shows and films might be upscaled and restored to fit even 4K, while many more recent ones are limited to the way they were originally filmed.
I did not know that! Mike Myers didn't exactly try to hide where he got his inspirations from with the Autin Powers films. Just remembered that I've seen Lindsay Wagner in an episode of The Rockford Files. That must have been around the time she featured in The Six Million Dollar Man/The Bionic Woman.
If I remember correctly Rockford files was a few years before The Bionic Woman, Lindsay Wagner was so gorgeous, Lyndsay was the equivalent of a super model before getting into acting..
I have numerous movie themes albums on CD many of them being John Barry.
Yes, probably. It was the very first season of The Rockford Files, since I've only ever seen a few episodes from that show and that season specifically.
I really like 1975 album The Music Of John Barry. There are some great Bond track renditions on that album.
I have numerous JB CD's I had much more on LP and Tapes years ago, I have my own JB and JB CD stand lol (Barry and Bond)
I found another nice CD stand today that is good quality wood slightly darker than my other stands though looks great, it holds 40 CD's. So I have managed to clear a bit of space again lol
Initially I did not think much to the stand thought I could do something with it, then only when I got home I realized they were displaying it upside down lol and had the price ticket on the bottom of the stand for some reason. It was a good surprise when I saw it the right way up, it was only £4 from a charity shop.
I first saw the stand a few weeks ago, being displayed upside down explains why no one bought it, my gain lol.
I actually have very few movie scores in my collection. My last purchase was a digital copy of the Assignment K soundtrack, by Basil Kirchin. It's not a score that in any way comes close to the music of John Barry, but there are some interesting and very 60's sounding tracks on there. I see there's been a few extended Bond scores that have been released lately. I would really like to get my hands on some of those.
My only issue with CD stands are that there's no door to hide the CD's. It's mostly an aesthetic issue I have obviously, but having the CD's stored in a cabinet also saves you time dusting!
But this is a great price for a CD stand though. I struggle to find furniture and storage pieces at those prices where I live.

A friend has this great CD stand that has doors and the unit also rotate. I don't mind seeing my CD's on the stand though I do need to move the stands to make the room look less clustered lol I am at that point where my movie room feels like I am buried in films and CD's.
I have put some furniture and other things aside ready to take to charity shop to make the room look less clustered.
Assignment K is a pretty good 60's spy film featuring Stephen Boyd. It got a limited edition Blu-ray release last year. It's well worth checking out. The soundtrack by Basil Kirchin was also released last year; I don't know if it's been released before. I purchased a digital release of the album, but you can also find it on Spotify.
I like keeping things behind doors to keep things looking less cluttered. I'm having a bit of work done in my apartment this autumn, so I hope to get things a bit more sorted than I have now. Since moving in, I've had cardboard boxes and plastic containers with things all over the place, haha!
I donated some clothes to charity today. It's incredible how much clothes and items you can end up not using, and I'm one that doesn't buy that much!
Now I remember, Boyd is in one of my favorite films Ben Hur. I have only seen snippets of the film I need to sit down an properly watch Assignment K.
I think I need to move things around, I have a decent hallway which could have shelves set up, it would reduce the clutter n my movie room that's for sure. My movie room feels like a green house especially in summer, I need to do something to sort that., some tech may have to go I need to be ruthless if I am not using certain tech.

Moving thing around, optimising storage with shelves, etc. can make a world of difference. I'm still looking for clever storage solutions myself, but most of it has to wait until I've had work done in my apartment.
I live in an older, late 1940's three-bedroom apartment, which was renovated in the late 90's. Three windows on the more weather exposed side of the building needs changing, which includes two of the bedrooms. Both bedrooms could do with a bit of work, as the laminate flooring is starting to look bad, the walls could look better, and the clothing cabinets won't last long.
So what I'm having done is getting new windows installed, the 90's laminate floorboards are being removed in order to expose the original flooring which I am planning to restore, and I'm having new wall panels installed. One of the bedrooms will get a new Ikea clothing storage system (a cheaper one to save money), with new doors to cover them. The other bedroom, which has just served as storage since I moved in, will become an office/listening room (hopefully!). In this room I'm removing the clothing cabinet (the cabinets in both bedrooms are placed in niches in the walls), where I will place a desk and some shelves to store some of my book collection.
This will obviously not be cheap, but I'm trying to save money where I can. At least this will add to the value of the apartment, so should I one day decide to sell, I hope this will add to the price I'll get. The rest of the apartment could do with renovating too, but I'm doing the rooms I can afford to fix now.
Assignment K I think has appeared on a UK channel called talking pictures which tends to repeat films, I will keep an eye out and record it if it appears again.
I find concentrating on one room or area at a time works ans things get completed quicker, I just have way to much stuff bought loads more CD's recently so back to square one with my space issue lol I have developed a CD addiction lol
I have a second bedroom that is mainly a utility room and where I keep tools and my bike and storage boxes, if I sorted that room out it would help a lot.
I did just that when I did a bit of a clearout this summer. I finished everything I needed to do in one room, before moving on to the next. If you're going back and forth between the rooms it takes longer to see the results.
I really look forward to seeing my bedrooms renovated. One of those bedrooms has a lot of storage potential, and will sort out a lot of the storage issues I have right now.
My apartment also includes a loft, so that functions as my utility room. It's very cluttered right now though, as my mother is in the process of selling the family home; in the meantime most of her belongings are placed there.
Sounds like a fun project you have there, its actually giving me food for thought regarding my place. II would feel so much better if I went minimalist for the most part, I need to be more ruthless. Built in units or shelf's would open up a lot more space for me with my music and media that's for sure.
Been thinking about this a lot maybe its time to sell most of my collectables and memorabilia. (I will keep my CD's and Blurays lol).
I saw a radio made of wood in a store yesterday that was made in 1954, I was very tempted to buy it though had to stop myself I just don't know where to put it.
I'm definitely looking forward to it, but it will be a bit stressful the week or so the builders are doing their work. I will have to move my bed into the living room, and furniture will be all over the place, haha! :))
Built in units are the best, for sure. What annoys me, is that prior to this flat being renovated in the 90's, there was no doubt very functional built-in cabinets with doors where the clothing cabinets I'm tearing out are now placed. I know this, because my grandparents lived in a similar flat in the same street back in the day – and that flat had the original cabinets in place – all just as functional as they were when they were built in the 40's.
I have a lot of my old stuff in the attic right now, and looking at the space in the flat itself, and how unlikely I am to want to move all that stuff into the flat, I am very likely to sell a lot of stuff after the renovation. It might help me get back just a little of the money spent renovating, and I have less stuff lying around. That mostly includes books and comic books.
I know the feeling! I have an auto saved search on one of the biggest online market places here in Norway, and now and then some really nice radios pop up – some even at decent prices. But I can't bring myself to get more gear right now. I also have an old radio cabinet (which I've mentioned before in this thread) after my grandparents which is currently in the attic at my mother's house; part of me want to bring it to my apartment, and maybe have it up and running, but I know it will also take up considerably amount of space…
I try to make myself scarce when work is done at home, I will go cyling for the day or something i hate being at home when work is being done lol
I now have 3 weeks off work so will have a real clear out (I am sure i have said that before lol0 Just had another music haul today, my CD's must me anywhere between 700 and 800 now, tape cassettes maybe 70?
I am determined to clear out a room completely and even good stuff if I don't use it, it must go to charity, I also have a bad habit of keeping storage boxes of bought items I have to get rid of the lot. If I clear my spare room i could put shelves up to store some of my collection to free up space in my movie room.
I have considered reselling my smart speakers back to Amazon as I hardly use them now, so I could recoup some money/credit.
I might be forced to sell some audio gear myself, depending on how the rooms look after the renovation. If I'm unable to find storage furniture I'm happy with, I will be better off selling some stuff, finding a storage solution that works with the rooms, then just decorate and use the audio gear that works with the rooms. That way the rooms will look tidy and uncluttered, and I will be able to use the rooms exactly like intended.
Been ill this past week so done nothing as yet other than buy a few more CD's online to make my problem worse lol Shoe box storage boxes for my lessor CD's is an option I am going for, I need to buy more boxes similar. There are a good 100+ CD's that I consider listen to once a year at best so they can go in the boxes to free up shelf space.
hopefully next week i will clear one of my rooms.

Just heard from the builders that they are starting with the two rooms in my apartment late next week, so I will hopefully, in a couple weeks time, have a room I can utilise as a music room/office. Once they are finished, I will also know what storage solutions I need to get. Money will no doubt be tight, so I might have to make do with some temporary solutions; my main goal is that this room should be very tidy at all times, which will force me to make some tough decisions about what I want to keep of audio equipment, books, movies and other things that I have collected through the years.
At least this might give me the chance to sell some stuff too, which might go some way to fund whatever I need to purchase for the room.
Covid caught me AGAIN two weeks ago. I am back at work, but I still feel crap!
That's good news, good to get it done whilst still in the warmer months, will you put items on ebay?
Just had another CD haul and found some blank CD cases that are double tray and slim line they are like mini DVD boxes so I could put the CD art of two albums either side.

@Mathis1 I only tested positive once with C19 and did not have any symptoms that was few years ago, hope you are back to your best soon.
The mornings are already getting chillier here, so it's an ideal time to get all of this work done – which also means that I can use the autumn to sort out how I want the rooms to look like. I hope to get a lot of things in place before Christmas.
No, I don't think so. If there were more expensive items, collectibles and such, I might have considered Ebay, but it's mostly things I won't get too much for anyway, so I'm likely to use Finn.no, which is a Norwegian online marketplace (for anything from used goods to properties, cars and much more).

That's good to hear. We're entering the time of the year where people easily get a cold, viruses or other things; I cross my fingers I won't catch any of that stuff in what will be a busy period, but you never know…
