    Yeah I do worry that Live Free or Die Hard was an outlier from him (I love it) and it won't be the best. If anything, now the scenes that Stahelski is assisting further with will become even more jarring amongst all the stuff Wiseman worked on. I hope I'm wrong.

    I was hyped for it regardless, and even if not a technically “great” film seems like one that could have been a ton of fun. This year’s just been so cursed for me - wretched illnesses and delays and cancellations on everything I’ve looked forward to x(

    Honestly, if there are some good action bits in it, that's more than enough for me. As long as it's visually entertaining, I'm willing to forgive its other transgressions.

    But yeah, 2024, while off to a fine start with a few surprises in my opinion, has seen most of my more anticipated releases pushed to 2025, weakening the overall year.

    This is what makes James Bond the best cinematic character of all time. No matter how many Bond films I see, I'm still aching for more. Right now, I've already gotten tired of John Wick. For me, 1 & 2 were enough and are still the best.

    I was not overly keen on John Wick 3 though I had a lot of fun with the 4th film mainly because of the set pieces.

    This bodes well for the trailer arriving this year then, despite the film's release date getting another massive delay.

    The Continental was fun but gets a little hokey at times and the action was never as great as the opening sequence was. I'm not overly excited for Ballerina and can't say I'm really optimistic about it but I'm sure I'll still watch it once it releases. Hopefully that first trailer blows me away.

    JW is one of the most consistent action series I've ever seen, and 3 was the only one not fully up to par IMO. 1, 2, and 4 are all top shelf films for me. I'm very eager to see the first footage for Ballerina.

    He was fantastic in the last Wick flick. A true stand out. His physical work was beautiful. I haven't seen much of this man's work, but I am now a fan. I'll be there to watch his continuing story.

    Music to my ears: John Wick: Chapter 5 is set to begin production next year, with Keanu Reeves returning and, more likely than not, Chad Stahelski directing. I'm excited it's not wrapping with what was my least favorite installment in the series.

    To be honest, this franchise has now revealed itself to be all about martial arts. Chapter 1 and 2 are still the best for me. Not that I despise martial arts, but the films are now too filled with it.

    Yes. Correct. Chapter 2 is my favorite too. It's so good, I didn't know when the film was over. That's how engaging the film was. I believe the catacombs gun fight influenced NTTD's action in Safin's lair.

    I can’t blame people for picking 2 as their favorite. It’s the most balanced of the bunch, and has my favorite of the main villains. I still go with 1 as my favorite, because of the emotion and simplicity of it, plus it really stands out in a good way IMO as “the odd one out” of the series. Very excited for 5 anyway. I loved 4, and I was also pretty confident the whole way things weren’t done just yet. That said, I don’t know how much longer this series should / can go on.

    3 and 4 are certainly over the top by comparison. The overall collection of characters and emotion of 4 put it far above 3 for me though, which is still a good movie but my clear choice for least good of the lot. I’m also wondering where they will go from here, and though I loved 4 I’d love a reset of sorts - a more “stripped back” approach again.

    My main hope will be just that, a tighter and less extravagant approach that's still just as deadly and action-packed. I'm also hoping that with Caine getting his own spinoff now and some other side projects in the works, we keep it narrowly focused on John.

    Can't wait for the trailer today, feels like the start of a complete cinematic revival leading into 2025, new Jurassic World, new DC cinematic Universe, the next Mission Impossible, New Wolfman, new Naked Gun. The next era of Hollywood begins now.

    Looks like the action and spectacle will be there at least! I’m a little bummed they opted for the title that they did; the “From the World of John Wick” is very tacky, but it’s obviously done to draw in as much audience as possible. Hopefully a good product, too soon to tell, but it’s a good first trailer.

    Yeah they've kinda bungled all these titles and subtitles since branching out with The Continental.

    I'm sure the action will deliver while the narrative and backstory falter and underwhelm, but I'm in.
