OHMSS is by far the superior film to TMWTGG.

TSWLM is such a fun blast with an abundance of classic moments that it just has to take the win. Sorry, Dr. No.

It feels like someone holding in their gut, and at the last moment letting all hang out. DN wins.

    Good comparison.

    OHMSS and TSWLM

Spy is epic, fun, campy perfection. Dr. No is a tad boring relative to (just about all) future entires, IMH and unpopular O.

No contest on the first one.
    OHMSS smashes TMWTGG

The second match up is slightly closer. Spy being my introduction to Bond, it'll always have a soft spot for me. However Bond's introduction is hard to fault.

    DN over TSWLM

    Difficult to argue with this.

The first not even worthy of debate. The second very close but TSWLM has a bit of flab whereas DN keeps on getting better with age. But depending on your mood they could easily flip.
But that car sequence is so good

Yeah, one of the best action sequences of the series hence I gave DN the nod.

Oh you were talking about TSWLM?

These days I appreciate TMWTGG far more than I used to, but it's obviously no match for OHMSS.

I'm a little disappointed that TSWLM is not putting up more of a fight here, so let me try and fix that now. DN is of course very good, not too many complaints except that perhaps it's a little too stripped down at times for my tastes. Spy is just a thrill ride from the start and yeah, it's definitely cheesy at times but I love it just the same. I can understand why some feel the finale is a bit boring, but I feel the same can be said for DN, perhaps even more so.

I prefer the finale in DN personally. The one in TSWLM feels a bit overblown and dragging for me.

I love the ending of TSWLM on Atlantis, but concede that it slows down for perhaps a bit too long on Liparus. Having said that, seeing Bond ride that security camera with the theme blaring is worth the price of entry for me. Same goes for his Sea-doo moment.

If that includes them defusing the warhead, then I'd have to agree. Fantastic sequence.

    OHMSS, naturally.

Though Spy is a the perfect cinematic Bondian experience, DN is a cut above.

I never realized DN was so highly regarded around here. I kind of think of it the way I think of most pilot episodes of TV series; it okay, but only okay. It's the prototype of much better things that came after.

I'll say four, maybe five, better ones followed. Even that is debatable.

Followed in all or immediately? I would definitely agree that 4 better ones followed in the next 5.

DN is amazing. It’s always been one of the best and always will be.

I think it's extremely good. What I might love about it most is how it, on the one hand, has got this futuristic and larger-than-life veneer (which, as you note, is a prototype for what would come—but really it is a very pure prototype, no self-awareness yet, or BS) and, on the other hand, has at its core this really ancient-feeling quest to an island, complete with a goddess emerging from the sea. I just love the juxtaposition of those two tones.

LALD has some of the mystic quality to it, as well, with the tarot and vodoo and such. (Just without as much of the forward-looking, techno surface—Bond's kitchen doesn't cut it, I'm afraid). Maybe that's another reason why these two films feel like kindred spirits?

    OHMSS easily beats TMWTGG.

The 2nd category is a lot tougher, but I will go with the fun and big-bang thrills that TSWLM brings.

    OHMSS beats TMWTGG 23-1

    DN beats TSWLM 13-11

That is the closest match yet.

Time to bring on one of the juggernaut fights.

    Round 17:

    TND vs DAD

    and

    FRWL vs CR

    TND destroys DAD.

CR beats FRWL for me, but obviously they’re both among the greatest.

    Tomorrow Never Dies

Wins because it is quite short and easy to sit through.

    From Russia With Love

Wins because I feel Casino Royale is overrated, and FRWL is an easier watch.

    TND obviously

The next one is much more difficult. They really flip flop between first and second for me every day. I’ll go with CR
