BOND 24 IN PARTS 1 AND 2?

Just been thinking it woul dbe interesting if EON would ever consider following in the footsteps of other franchises ie Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings etc and set the events of a Bond movie in 2 installments released in the same calendar year. I know CR and QOS were linked in terms of storyline but were filmed 2 years apart. Not sure logistically or marketing wise this would be possible but I for one would love to see 2 Bond flicks 6-10 months apart as a continuation of the other with the first part ending on a real cliffhanger with Bond in real danger at the end! Anyone else interested? NO 3D though thanks!!

I don't really think it's a feasible idea. It worked for Harry Potter because it was based on source material. And it worked for KILL BILL because it was Quentin Tarantino. But I don't think it would work for Bond.
  • I think people should slow down a bit, I mean we're only just in to the basics of Bond 23 and it's early days and now there's talk of what format or design they want Bond 24 to look like, can we slow things down eh, let's keep things as they are, and not making plans for future projects, we're going to be involved enough as it is with all that next years release will show us and I'd like to keep my eyes on one thing at a time

and besides, the idea of two Bonds in one calendar year seems a lame idea, I don't think it could ever work, a gap of two years minimum is enough

Before QUANTUM OF SOLACE was QUANTUM OF SOLACE, there was talk that EON would film BOND 22 and BOND 23 back-to-back and release them both in 2007, since 2007 supposedly equalled "2 x 007". But I'm pretty sure it was just a fan fantasy and never seriously considered by EON.

It should never happen. Harry Potter was split to just get more money out of the franchise, and I think it is BS that people think it was to respect the book. Bond films should always be one movie, that's all there is to it.

It would have been cool - for the 50th Anniversary - if they had shot two films of continuation back to back in time to release the first in early 2012 and the second traditionally. But then again, that's not very EON.

It made much more sense for Harry Potter, than say Breaking Dawn or Mockingjay. Now that's money grabbing.

As for Bond, there's no need to do this at all. Just pump the films out every two years and get a rhythm going.

Bingo. And now they're doing it with Twilight and apparently The Hunger Games.

We're in a different era as far as adaptations of novels go. Now the rule of thumb is to change very little so as not to upset the fans, even when the source material could be improved (Twilight).

CR followed by QoS is the closest the Bond franchise needs to get to a two-part film.

It would have been better if QOS had been written at the same time as CR.

And if Campbell had stayed on to direct both.

An interesting idea... hmmmmm it would be nice. But the thing is that after pirates 2/3 the cast and crew where totally shot.

Well the 'Pirates of the Carribean' are aiming to do it again for their 5th and 6th outing shot back to back... now that's money grabbing.

As for Bond... couldn't they hire 2 distinct teams for 2 movies that aren't in any connected to each other story-wise, and release them in 2014 and 2015, like in the good old days ? I don't see any other way to have the return of 1 film released every year.

I like to see Bond 24 in 2014 and Bond 25 in 2015.

Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were part 1 and part 2 of "Bond21".

That Gave me an idea.... B24 is Craig's could be last film. So if he does leave why not shoot B24 with Craig and B25 with someone else.

I prefer each Bond to be somewhat different than its predecessor and that includes the story. A two hour canvas should suffice for a decent Bond film.
