    With the passing of his beloved, but not immortal leader Fidel, and not too much later the stepping back of Raúl, things took a turn for the worse. His stock of emanities of the West started dwindling fast when his channels were one by one killed off. Raoul kneew what was coming, a little birdie told him, but all in all Cuba turned out to be a rather naked little island, and soon enough the new leaders catched up with him. In a desperate attempt, he took a small raft and tried to sail to Florida. That's the last anyone has ever seen of him.

    Okay the sleeper agent from Cuba sparked some wonderful ideas and creative possibilities. The cigars and the clinic! Wow we have some talented folks on this thread.

    Lets move forward to the re-booted Bond and Casino Royale! This might be our first one from this movie. I was too lazy to review the entire list.

    M has seen many assistants over his/her time. Loyal secretary Moneypenny, Chief of Staff Tanner and even a chap named Robinson. But in CR she had a brand new assistant known as Villiers. Villiers showed up in CR and then disappeared.

    One has to ask, did M fire him? Was he promoted? Maybe he quit and chose a life outside of the service? The possibilities are endless.

    Placed due to family connections (with Tanner), Villiers' tenure with MI6 was disappointing.

    He just didn't have the stomach for it, unfortunately.

    It would have been interesting if that was the case @shimplyshocking007 added some emotional stakes if instead of Mitchell, it was Villiers who assisted in Green's escape.

    Failing with MI6. Failing with Quantum.

    Poor Villiers (name meaning town-dweller) sought to avoid the sorry fate of fellow Quantum plant Mitchell (name meaning who is like God, or a big man). And so he retreated to a small village in France. Took to farming. No longer a tendril of the evil organization.

    Still 007 searched him out and killed him.

    Bond struck up a conversation with Villiers on the last of the 4,5 Litre Bentleys with the Amherst Villiers Supercharger.

    Villiers said he drives a hybrid and looked at his watch.

    As always this thread never disappoints with it's creative answers, GIFs and pictures. Nice to see you join in @M_Balje

    Lets move on to Quantum of Solace. An un-developed plot point allowed this man to escape with his life. Though in a deleted scene he met his end at the hands of Mr. White.

    We are talking of the advisor to the PM Guy Haines. Mr. Haines was a high ranking government official who found himself outed during a performance of Tosca. The same performance that outed Villers according to @RichardTheBruce

    So did Mr. White really end the life of Mr. Haines? Or did our double agent go on to create more damage from within the government. After all, Bond didn't have any hard proof linking Haines to Quantum. Maybe he continued to live a happy Civil Service life? Or did he go into hiding fearful that either mi6 or Quantum would come and finish the job?

    Whatever happened to Guy Haines?

    He went on the run after QOS. Then either Mr White or Bond killed him.

    He managed to get away to the U.S. and hide pretending to be a tennis champion. Then he met a stranger on a train who asked him if he was Guy Haines and asked him to kill the stranger's father in exchange for killing Guy's wife. Guy thought he had turned crazy and his cover was blown and he jumped off the train right then and there, perishing immediately.

    The question of what happened to Guy Haines is by extension in my mind what happened to the rest of Quantum after QOS. Mr. White is the only remaining link after that movie, with the Quantum organization only briefly mentioned and leaving it up to the audience to imagine exactly what happened. I like to think in between QOS and SF Bond went on some missions that resulted in the dismantling of Quantum more and more, which could include Haines being killed or arrested. Bond and MI6 just never learn Quantum is part of Spectre until the SP movie, but at that point, Quantum is so weakened they are an afterthought.

    That’d be cool. It is a shame we didn’t get that middle film between younger and older Bond for Craig.
