After reading this, it sounds like he’s in it for the money.

This sounds more like it, alright.

    Knew it! Tory gon' Tory.

An interesting article that suggests that Nolan is not a Tory.

I'm a big Nolan fan and hate the very ideology of the Conservatives they make my blood boil. So I wouldn't want to believe he isn't and this article makes a good argument for him not being one.

Does it really matter if Nolan is a Tory? I mean.....I'm the sort of person who could never imagine in a million years voting for the Conservative party in the UK. But I can't see the benefit of judging an artist for their politics. Plus, these things aren't all that binary. Remember, whilst Nolan sounds English, he's more American. Our interpretation of his art probably says more about us than him...

New trailer is in......boy......this looks amazing. Basically it's a time-travelling 007 film. Washington is fantastic and Pattinson looks to be the MVP scene-stealer. Kevin Branaugh is in full Bond villain mode (essentially reprising his role from Jack Ryan). It has an exotic lushness to it. In fact, it's the most 'fun' trailer I've seen more a Nolan film...little doom and gloom. It looks like pure escapism. Also, Hoyte's photography is A+

In many respects, this out James Bond's No Time to Die.......somehow. Got serious Goldfinger vibes from Washington's costume.

I will happily be seeing this in IMAX opening day. No question.

Nice to see Nolan had the good sense to cast Brannagh as the Russian villain after his iconic and authentic performance in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.

Fortnite has Hollywood by the balls because they have Jeffrey Epstein's files.

Robert Pattinson looks like he's gonna kill it in this :)

Apparently if not July, it might take WW's previous August spot.

based upon a trailer I find this statement kinda weird. But then again everybody has an opinion.

One thing I found very neat about this trailer is the first shot of Robert Pattinson comes right after the 'From the director of The Dark Knight trilogy' card, given he is the new incarnation of Batman.

Overall, this was a fantastic new trailer, and I'll be there day 1 for it, whenever it opens (the sooner, the better).

If we are talking about trailer, yes NTTD manage to convey a small story within 2:30 minutes trailer, which looked way better. But we haven't seen both of the film's yet.

Looks thrilling an intriguing but I still haven't really go a clue what this is about.

Fine by me, if I can see this in the cinema I will, ideally IMAX, though I'm not risking my health if it does get released this July here in the UK.

NTTD still tops this for anticipation though for me. This looks more Sci-fi than Bond, I get visually it might give off a Bond vibe but other than that it is pure Nolan.

Nolan has been cribbing from Bond since Batman Begins, he just gives the stories his own spin, neither Inception or Tenet would be the kind of thing that Bond would appear in.

NTTD looks pure Bond, Tenet most certainly doesn't.

folks...this is gonna be a fun movie. This trailer sells exactly what I was imagining the 'Nolan does Bond' initial pitch would be. He's really really indulging - and clearly having a ton of fun doing so - the classic spy movie cliches (Russian villain? 'No, Mr Bond I expect you to die'? All the locations? Clemence Poesy as Q?) and putting his timey wimey twist on it. The trailer, especially in comparisons to the initial teasers and prologue, is surprisingly light(er) on its feet. Love the - I'm sure it's not Ludwig but still - Tron: Legacy-esque music here and the way Goransson's main motif comes in at the end is just epic, and the details such as the reverse fight moment having the score also seemingly reversed.... Pattinson bringing his best Tom Hardy/Eames in Inception energy here too.

So glad to put the release date/state of the world and industry concerns to one side and just enjoy the hell out of this.

It looks really interesting although I don't really know what it is still.

Strange to have images from Nolan's other films in there, I don't think I've seen a trailer do that before (apart from fan ones on youTube! :) )

Is that definitely Gorannson's score, @antovolk?

I don't think it'll literally be a James Bond film (obviously)...I mean in terms of tone, style, iconography and imagery. Then, heck, it's very entrenched in the Bond genre (which, yes, is a genre upon itself now). I'm more than happy about that. An espionage time-travel film sounds right up my street.....literally cannot wait for this film.

I remember early on in Tenet's development, there were rumours that it was going to be 'Inception meets North by Northwest.' Well, that is exactly how I'd describe this trailer. It's a big-scale Hitchcock film: Beautiful locations, blonde femme fatales, Russian villains, charismatic heroes and some suspenseful action. Also, emphasis on the action - Nolan does things for real.

@antovolk I agree how surprisingly 'fun' the film looks. Maybe a deliberate marketing attempt to get people excited to return to the cinema for some escapism. It doesn't have that usual 'heavy' Nolan feel....not as portentous and full of itself. There are actually some wisecracks! Not as much naval-gazing as I suspected.

    It's also so very stunning...

Yes that's a good point Pierce2: it does look a bit more enjoyable than the average Nolan.

I do get slightly unfortunate The Matrix vibes from it too, but nevermind! :)

Every Nolan film is basically an unofficial Bond film. Nolan has now carved a niche for himself, in the sense that fans are always curious whenever he announces a film, coz they knew it won't be a conventional action film. Can't wait for TENET. I even heard a rumour last year, that it might feature an street Tank chase, which is a homage to Goldeneye. Although, I don't know how true that is. I would really be Surprised if Nolan doesn't introduce the 7th Bond.

It reminds me of Tony Scott's Déja Vu.

Gosh, that's the Denzel thing with the ferry, isn't it? I have only the vaguest memories of that.

But that was about knowing a big event is coming wasn't it? This seems to be about time going backwards (or something!) within each scene. I don't really get how it's supposed to work, I suspect there will be lots of internet arguments about its internal logic after it's released!

You should give it a rewatch, IMO it's one of the 3 best Tony Scott/Denzel Washington collaborations, alongside Man on Fire and Crimson Tide. I also find Unstoppable to be a very solid action/thriller too.

People found Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the trailer. I don't know if that is definitely him. It looks like him, but if it definitely is, he looks really cool and I still think he should be considered for Bond in the future.

Yeah I do remember enjoying it, I'll give it another go if it pops up somewhere.

It was decent, although should be prosecuted under the Trade Descriptions Act! :D

And give me Runaway Train any day.

What I can say for sure is that it's definitely based on his score from the 6 minute IMAX prologue - a slightly more downtempo and funky and trailer friendly version. As to whether it's him reworking it for the trailer or someone else (as is usually the case), don't know.
