All I am saying is it is a good thing she abhors violence. Could it be she had a little crush on Dario?

She sure is @Thunderfinger . Mad as a March Hare, but lovely all the same. Funny too.

@MooseWithFleas I reckon you could edit together a great mixtape of Bond lullabies from the soundtracks for your little one ... you could make a fortune selling that to frazzled new Bond parents! 👍

Now that's an idea! I like it @Max_The_Parrot

My daughter and I just watched Tomorrow Never Dies. She seemed to enjoy it.

Well, if she’s not going to become a Roger fan, a Brosnan fan would be a good alternative! Fingers crossed she loves the Q boat chase in TWINE! 🤞🙂

Although not my favourite I think TND is a good choice to watch with kids. It’s for a cracking Pre titles, a Cool car chase, a silly bike chase, a parachute jump etc. Enough entertainment to keep them interested

So. Our latest Bond weekend has come to an end. Here's what we watched.

    The World Is Not Enough

She didn't really seem that taken with this. Just watched it and then she went to bed. Didn't really give an opinion on it either way.

    Die Another Day

I told her I hated it. She agreed with me.

    Casino Royale

Now THIS one she liked! She said it had a better, more believable story.

    Quantum Of Solace

She really enjoyed this one. Very curious about the whole Quantum story and who Mr White and everyone is. She also came out with a howler. You know how the gunbarrel scene is at the end of this? That confused her - and for a split second she wondered if the WHOLE FILM we just watched was the pre title sequence! :))

Shit like that is why I love her so much!!!

She's very excited that we're now watching the Bond films of HER generation. She loves Daniel Craig and says he's her favourite.

Really can't wait until next weekend when her Bond education finishes up!

That's what Casino Royale is, @BondStu. BOND 101.

Well last night we watched Skyfall. She really enjoyed it and says it's her favourite Bond movie.
This morning we watched Spectre. I tried to keep the Blofeld revelation as much of a surprise as I could - but she pretty much worked out he'd be in it from the title.

It is a bit of a giveaway. She enjoyed it but she found it a bit too violent for her tastes.

So. My 10 year old daughter has seen all the Bond movies! She started reading Fleming's Casino Royale too. So right now I'm a very proud Dad!

Also - when we were watching Skyfall I was impressed by her attention to detail. She made a connection which I myself had never made. When Bond fakes (for want of a better word) his death at the start - she noticed a parallel to the beginning of You Only Live Twice. That had never occurred to me before.

Congratulations on your Bond mini-me marathon @BondStu! Now the real test will come when you see if she wants to watch any of the films again. I’m still hopeful you’ll wake up in the middle of the night sometime and find she’s sneaked down to secretly watch Moonraker again ... that cable car scene is a winner! 😂

@Max_The_Parrot - time will tell my friend!

But we're moving on undaunted! Tonight we're going to start watching the extended editions of The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Keep moving forward!

@BondStu thanks for sharing your experience.
    1. I'm jealous and hope I can do the same once. (My kids aren't old enough)
    2. Didn't you hesitate to show your 10-year-old daughter LTK? I think I would show it to my kids when they are 12...
    3. Interesting and quite surprising that she preferred SF.
    4. Which movies would you say are the most child-friendly?

@Max_The_Parrot - will do mate. She loved the first LOTR.

    @goldenswissroyale

    1. Be sure to tell us when you do!
    2. I talk about watching LTK in earlier posts on this thread!
    3. She found Skyfall really absorbing.
    4. EASILY the Roger Moore ones. Especially TSWLM and MR.

Have watched the first four Connery movies so far with my step son who is 14. I had make clear to him before we started that the SFX were not up to todays standards and also CGI did not exist. :))

So far Goldfinger is his favourite.

Thanks for sharing this all @BondStu! I'll wait at least another nine years before I'll let minime see them, but I do sing thunderball and yolt to help him fall asleep. @RogueAgent keep us posted!

It will be interesting to see his opinion change or maybe not as we progress through the series?

It is great to share these movies for sure, I am sure you will love doing it too when the time is right? Of course I will update you as we work our way through the series. :-bd

I'm soon to fulfil my part of the bargain. My daughter agreed to watch all James Bond with me if I agreed to watch all the Harry Potter movies with her.

Not that I have anything against Harry Potter (far from it!) it's just those movies and that franchise in general? Never done ANYTHING for me. I was always a Lord Of The Rings man.

But I must watch them with her. I have seen them all before but a long time ago.

    Oh well.

My daughter is 19 months old but she already is able to say point and say Bond at my Living Daylights mug and various posters around the house.

Nice that Dalton is a kid's first image of Bond

    So. Here's the latest

    The Living Daylights

She enjoyed this and liked Dalton as Bond. I had to explain a lot of what was going on in it though. Especially how it was a Cold War thriller. I've told her about the Cold War before though so she understands what it was. It's just all the espionage stuff.

Did she enjoy the gentler romantic plot with Kara? For that reason this seems like one a 10 year old girl might like better than some of the others for that reason.

To answer one of your questions @goldenswissroyale I have shown my 8 year old the following films:

    GF
    YOLT
    DAF
    TMWTGG
    TSWLM
    MR
    FYEO

The violence hasn't been a thing yet, but the sex has led to some questions. He asked me why Bond's top was off with the girl in YOLT? He laughed when Connery got undressed in DAF! LOL!

He didn't make it through FYEO, which surprised me as I thought he'd enjoy the many action scenes but he didn't seem to take to it. He can quote dialogue from GF and DAF. He loves Willard Whyte and the lines he delivers. He also likes the "Forgive me gentlemen, I was walking my pet rat and seemed to have lost my way."

He really wants to see FRWL and CR but I have told him he needs to be a bit older before I can show him those ones.

Just showed my 8 year old TND. He loved the garage chase. Thought Carver was a real baddie and didn't like him at all. He didn't fully understand the plot about broadcasting rights and why that would be a thing to start a war over. He liked the fight in the soundproof room. He's really looking forward to watching a Craig era Bond but I have sadly told him we need to wait a few years.

Oh and recently he said he thinks Daniel looks like Tom Hardy. :)
