I do agree, it comes off like a child who didn't get to play with their favourite toy. Now, you don't see Spielberg doing that, do you?
What a joke. It's been 10 years and time's a healer, right?
I could imagine a Tarantino Bond flick would have a real American vibe riding throughout, with gangsters, retro 70's nods, stupid OTT violence, trashy conversations, cheap gimmicks, over-stylized, Spaghetti Western, American comics and Kung Fu influences, etc.
Thankfully the producers had more sense than to go anywhere near Tarantino, who is probably the most inappropiate director for Bond in Hollywood at the moment.
I couldn't think of anyone worse.
How right you both are but I think the real solution for Tarantino is to produce and direct the "Modesty Blaise" series.
Correctly handled and well adapted (either set in the '60s or updated) these novels have the potential to "Out Bond" Bond!
With regard to Sampson - our friend is correct. They deserve adaptation but a la "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy".
Matt Helm or MFU perhaps but why tread water with mediocrity when he could do Blaise!
