Skyfall: Craig's era repeating itself

I couldn't have sworn there was an action scene at Miami Airport in Casino Royale and now
an action scene at Shanghai International Airport in Skyfall.

Perhaps a bit lacking in imagination? Yep. [-( I'm sure there are other places you can have action scenes other than airports. I wonder how much of the rest of Skyfall will be old action scenes dressed up as new.

Interestingly enough, both scenes not filmed in the actual real life locations.

are we sure it's an action piece?... or is that only your assumption?

chances are it's just a scene in the film.
  • So... Bond's not allowed to go to airports anymore?

Perhaps, perhaps not. I'm assuming there is some action scene although I suppose it could be Bond arriving at the airport.

    :D

i guess every airport scene after Dr. No was repeating itself...

    what lack of imagination.

..... if he chases a man into the airport, because he plans to sabotage the Skyfleet's unveiling of their latest aircraft - in which during the chase, he fights with the terrorist driving a fuel truck, and they crash through a luggage train and etc......... then i'll agree with that sentiment..

Ohhh you are assuming... and you needed to open a thread to criticize something that's nothing more than an assumption...

Okay, let's hope it's not an action scene. My jumping to conclusions. This Comic Movie website sort of gave the impression it was action based, I guess. Perhaps not. I suppose Bond can use an airport if he likes but I don't like it!!!!!

And that kitten is freaking me out too.
  • Those Casino scenes are annoying as well. They've had one in almost every Bond film. What unimaginative sort of people are making these films? Fire 'em now.

it could be an action scene - doesn't mean it will be in the same context as the one in CR.... and who knows, it might not be an action scene at all... we'll have to wait and see.

It's an action scene. I know because someone just tweeted me. This is the tweet

Been at Ascot as a Bond extra. Bond escapes airport on horse. Amazing scene. Horse poo not so amazing.

If this guy says that I believe it!!!!

curious..... it says.. "Bond escapes in horse." ..... could it mean he evades pursuers and escapes in one of these?

He is useless at typing. What a nitwit. He meant escape on horse. If he escaped in a horse... well, I dread to think!!!!!

Seriously? Where would the Bond franchise be if he hadn't been assaulted in trains in FRWL, LALD, TSWLM, OP, GE?

With that logic, every Bond film after the first few lack imagination. But that doesn't stop us from watching, does it?! :D
  • Oh well another year older now here 8-| and not sure what direction this is taking

From what I can ascertain there will be an airport sequence in next years big release, same as in Royale, I fail to see what horrors this could bring about, I mean it's not like every year we see Bond in such circumstances. Will Mendes be making a cameo at some point here as with before and Campbell etc

Surprisingly enough @haserot, another Bond star has had a run in with the "horse" too.

Whenever there's a new location announced, there's a 75% chance it will feature an action scene... based on the amount of action in the Craig era so far...

They shot for one night at Ascot doubling up as Shanghai Airport. One night is not even close enough to shoot an action scene, even a small one. The scene is more likely something similar to the classic scenes of Bond arriving in another country and passing thru the airport - such as Dr. No, FRWL, LALD, GE and QOS.

I'll be honest, I've been to many an airport and I don't remember horses being regular fixtures. Maybe Ascot struck a product placement deal ;)

    It's a gag! Ascot = horses + airport = Bond escapes on a horse!

I agree we need some originality in the series. May I suggest this as the theme?

Thing is if the sky falls, you would expect it to be at an airport? Some rogue villain has decided to jam all the world's air traffic network and cause utter panic?
