I live and have grown up just outside of Cleveland, where "A Christmas Story" was filmed - so it's one of those things here, like the movie Major League, you can't be from this area and not have seen the movie lol... they usually hold tours of Ralphie's house every christmas, and you can actually buy the leg lamps there..... in all my 27 years I've never gone to house... maybe this year i will.
You should. And pick me one up, too!
I love TBS's 24 hours of A Christmas Story every year. My hole family stays up and watches it :)

Yes!!! I'm from the States and I had never even heard of this song until I was 22 and studied abroad in London in fall of '03. They were playing this song on the streets during the lighting ceremonies and everyone was singing along to this when it came on. It was pretty magical. It's effect is instant, and now always puts me in the spirit right away.
