Who is your favorite fictional LGBTQ character in film/tv/comics/literature?

Since June is Pride month, just curious if anyone has a favorite LGBTQ character in a film, novel, comic/graphic novel or tv series?

    Has to be Cpt Jack from Dr Who and Torchwood. I have all seasons of Torchwood and Cpt Jack is an all action hero.

    It has to be Mr Wint and Mr Kidd from Diamonds are Forever (1971) and their very different counterparts in the 1956 Fleming novel.

    Are they politically correct? No!

    Is their homosexuality overdone or made fun of? No!

    Are they good henchmen and a lot of fun? Yes!

    Are their scenes the most memorable parts of the film? Yes!

    I don't have a favorite--don't really know of many at all. I'm hetero and prefer hetero characters--I think their energy is more dynamic. However, I fully respect all people, their desires and choices.

    I think films and TV series have so far been dealing with the subject in either a conservative or stereotypical fashion, missing opportunities. Exceptions exist, of course, such as Brokeback Mountain.

    I have never thought about this, not in terms of a characters sexulity. I guess looking at it this way, it would have to be Melville Farr in Victim (1961). An obvious choice? Maybe. But there's no denying the films watershed status in British cinema, and as a crucial film in Sir Dirk's career. I would post the confrontation between Farr and his wife, as a taster, but would instead urge anyone interested just to seek out the film.

    Ah! I'd forgotten about her but then her lesbianism is much more underplayed in the 1963 film version than it is in the 1957 novel. A necessary concession to the mores of the time I think it's safe to say.

    True it was underplayed, though still obvious on screen certainly during her first meeting with Tatiana.

    Is sexuality a particularly defining character trait? Which is why I never understood the purpose of the weekly references in Dr Who under Russel T Davis. I’m sure he thought he was being subversive but I’d like to think we are all already past caring about who other people love to the point that a cheeky joke or line week in week out is completely redundant. It reduced it to a subtle in-joke Easter egg which is completely the opposite of what it should be.
