Assemble Your Dream Bond Score

The idea.. is in fact quite simple...

everyone here has their own visions, and ideas of what they want their ideal Bond film to be like... well, how about scoring that dream film?....

The task is this.... assemble your soundtrack, including title theme.... but the score is not to be from any previous Bond film, unless we are talking about The Bond Theme, or even the 007 Theme.... previous opening title music is off limits as well.... imagine that you are in control of the sound for Bond 24 - you're obviously not going to reuse the theme songs from previous films.... so dig around, and find a song that you feel best represents your film... the world of music is at your disposal... if you only want to use one composer, go for it - if you want to mismash a few different composers together - heck, why not.... but you must post links to music, or videos - via youtube, or whatever else there is - should links be available.... this isn't an exercise in creating music - but just dragging from other scores, and inserting into yours..

you can use work from the Bond composers, up through Arnold, should you choose - just not their work on Bond - unless of course, it's like the above mentioned Bond theme, or 007 theme..

no deep analysis of your dream film, and how your score works inside of that is needed - unless you've already thought it all out - like what scenes would be for what arrangement of music

i'm intrigued to see what some of you here can come up with...

as always, happy hunting... :)

    Thought A. :

Score: Giacchino - I'd request a hybrid consisting of a mix between Super 8, Incredibles, and Star Trek

Titles: Buble or Muse; a male artist or artists.

Club scene: Have my very attractive lead actress, who of course works for the baddies, be a singer in a fancshy small underground Casino/club, where she'd sing a beautiful Sinatra or something like that, while dancing gracefully.

Credits: A female artist singing a cover of Thunderball.

Thought B. : (and this gets interesting)

Score: Morricone (Famous for his western film work with Leone, but is not limited to)

Titles: A Spanish artist*, with some spanish (a la 'romantico') thrown into the lyrics.

A scene where the lead actress (again) sings, but this time its a mellow, beautiful harmony just after sunrise to wake bond up (reference: Desperado; mini-mini-minute homage to Dr. No)

    Credits: A beautiful (Spain)Spanish song.

Given the plot of the movie, I'd say that was the point behind Giacchino's score ;)

Just watched Super 8 a couple of nights ago. Although I didn't pay much attention to the score, I thought the film was pretty good.

I am organizing mine, to the fan fic that I have been trying to organize for some time now.... so, here it goes

    <a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v323/djx187/?action=view&current=RDD.jpg"; target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v323/djx187/RDD.jpg"; border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

PTS chase music : "Downtown Tokyo Chase" by Brian Tyler from Tokyo Drift

I wanted something fast and energenic for my opening PTS - kind of in the vein of "Time To Get Out"... something that is really going to compliment the action well.

Opening Titles : "The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning" by The Smashing Pumpkins

I am not ripping this off from WATCHMEN, they just beat me to the punch ;-) lol... i had envisioned this is a Bond song for several stuff I had started (but never finished) during my junior high, and high school days... i just like the unconventional sound to it... has a bit in there that reminds me of Goldeneye, but overall, i feel like this song reflects the tone, and style of my fanfic / film

"Irina's Theme" by John Williams (from Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull

This song as an exotic and sultry sound to it, with some great film noir sounding undertones... and for whatever reason (maybe because how it was used in the film) it has a russian sounding undercurrent to it as well... maybe thats just me hearing that though..... but as my fanfic/film deals a lot with Russia (seeing as how the villain is half russian) i thought this would work well..

"Music For Marcel Duchamp" by Phillip Vandre (from Shutter Island)

It's time for Bond to do some snooping around... he is a spy after all lol... and i picture something like this or similar in my fanfic/film while he is doing his investigations..

"What Are You Asking Me" by James Newton Howard (from The Village)

I wanted a nice sweeping melody with a tad of old world innocence, for our leading lady :)

"Into Battle" by David Arnold (from Narnia: Voyage Of The Dawn Treader)

I wanted something big and brash for the final confrontation and climactic ending to my fanfic/film, and this track is all about that, it picks up at 2:45 during the track, and really doesn't relent... it has blaring horns, a loud chorus (similar to what was used to in DAD's score) this adds a haunting sound to the piece as well.. and this i believe really plays well against the climax of my film..
  • i'd suggest getting The Editors or Arctic Monkeys sing the new bond theme!
