Pre-Rank NTTD!

Since we’re about a week away from the initial reviews starting to trickle in, I thought it would be fun to preemptively rank NTTD. We’ve all seen the trailers and (most of us) had a chance to hear the score, so let’s take a guess where NTTD ends up before the reviews start shaping our opinions. Will be fun to see what changes after we actually see the film.

As a huge Craig fan, and based on what I’ve seen of Cary/heard from Zimmer, I believe it will rank quite highly for me.

Here’s my projection:

    Based on my thoughts on Fukunaga's prior works and what we know so far, high probability it ends up being my favorite Bond — if not my favorite blockbuster/tentpole film.

    My rankings change daily, but still, the new film has to work it's way up from the bottom.
    If NTTD follows the time honored tradition of the actors' last film being their worst, then it's certainly bound up end up towards the bottom. However if Eon has made a masterpiece, then I'd hope it's at least in the top half.

    There's no way on earth it could be as bad as DAD!
    But I couldn't possibly pr-empt where it could go, but I am very optimistic it will be high!

    LOL! I sincerely doubt it will be DAD level. However, I do remember thinking the trailers for DAD were amazing. I really believed DAD would be a top 5 entry at the time.
    I'm really on the fence as to where I'll probably end up ranking NTTD. Sometimes my enthusiasm is meh and other times I'm ecstatic. Right now my hunch is it could be a favorite go to Bond. I hope to see it twice opening weekend.

    Before I watched it, I expected NTTD to be not as good as Casino/Skyfall but better than Quantum/Spectre. Which is exactly how I feel after watching it.

    But NTTD was better than I expected.

    It's a bit similar for me - didn't think it'd be as great as QoS or CR but certainly better than SF and SP, and it absolutely was. I need a couple more viewings, might even top CR for me honestly, something I never thought I'd say.
