If you could do your own Bond marathon, by order of actor...

OK so you have the opportunity to watch all 25 films, BUT you have the option of choosing your own order of the actors' different eras you would watch. What does your viewing list look like?

My list:

Connery era - he was the original, so he MUST go first
Dalton's 2 films - hard-edged, no-nonsense take on Bond
OHMSS - I will need something lighter after LTK
Moore era - light-hearted fun
Craig era - back to the serious stuff
Brosnan era - end with the more escapist stuff, though I may watch DAD before TWINE O:-)

Ok, so for me it would probably be
    Dalton era
    Lazenby era
    Craig era
    Moore era
    Connery era

I'm attempting to participate, but this would seem to depend entirely upon my mood at the time.
  • Brosnan era first: start off with a bang with GoldenEye, and then get some of the weakest movies out of the way early.
Dalton era: bring back the quality with two back to back good movies.
Connery: Middle-ish of the marathon, you’ve been properly warmed up, it’s time for the classics.
Craig: Follow up Connery with perhaps the second most popular take on the character.
Lazenby: After NTTD’s homage, slide back in time for the real stuff.
Moore: After the stint of heavier emotional films, end on the fun, easy-going Moores.

In some ways, I'm conservative. I'd generally opt for the chronological order, but taking your instructions literally, I'd watch OHMSS after DAF in order not to have the single Lazenby film before Connery is over.

Cool idea ! My first instinct would be to watch them in the order made. But - No ! Open my mind ! Here we go !

In order of publication of the books or short stories from whence came the films - QUALIFIER
    A. Either this purposely does NOT include all the films (because they're not all from books or short stories), or
    B. Include films which significantly inspired the films which did not come from books or short stories
    C. Or just put those "non-literary Bond films" at the end of the line

there are other approaches, too, but I'll just go with this one this time - The "A" route, described above:

    CR '55
    CR '67
    CR '06
what a wild start, right ?
    LALD
    MR
    DAF
    FRWL
    DN
    GF
    FYEO
    TB
    NSNA
    TSWLM
    OHMSS
    YOLT
    TMWTGG
    OP
    TLD

And that's it for that set...Wow ! What crazy juxtapositions !
To help illustrate that, here it is again, with Bond actor noted

    CR '55 Barry Nelson
    CR '67 David Niven
    CR '06 Daniel Craig
STILL what a wild start, right ?
    LALD Roger Moore
    MR Roger Moore
    DAF Sean Connery
    FRWL Sean Connery
    DN Sean Connery
    GF Sean Connery
    FYEO Roger Moore
    TB Sean Connery
    NSNA Sean Connery
    TSWLM Roger Moore
    OHMSS George Lazenby
    YOLT Sean Connery
    TMWTGG Roger Moore
    OP Roger Moore
    TLD Timothy Dalton

I see some other approaches, too, and I'll save for other posts...
