Considering the 'magical 60's feel' covers a wide range of film-making techniques, let's just continue to speculate. My overall excitement for SF has died down a bit for now, but I'm sure it will rise again soon.
The source I read it from said Wilson mentioned "Goldfinger" so, taking that in a DRASTIC manner, we can expect more camp, less action as was rumored with Mendes, much dialogue b/w Bond and Bardem (yay), and a big finale.
But like I said, that's drastic.
And secondly, Mendes said at the press junket that there will be "plenty of action"; his was dispelling rumours that he was doing rewrites of the scipt to try and bait an Oscar.
Stop reading too much into these things. You're only going to be disappointed when the film comes out.
You didn't address him mentioning Goldfinger.
And the term 'drastically' was sprinkled in there quite a bit. I don't necessarily believe/hope any of what I stated occurs. I just want a good film I'll enjoy upon every viewing. I got that with QoS, and I expect nothing less if not way more from the current team. Whether or not it has a '60's feel' is up for time to tell, but we know the writer, Logan, the director, Mendes, and the actor, Craig are all passionate with the books and films from the 60's, so I wouldn't doubt there will be at least a hint in the final product.
Wilson teased that the upcoming 23rd Bond movie will channel 1963 classic Goldfinger to create a "very special" cinema-going experience.
"The director Sam Mendes and Daniel [Craig] are taking it back to a '60s feel - more Sean Connery," he told The People. "I think that's what the fans wanted.
"There's a magical Goldfinger feel surrounding it all. It's all very exciting. I can't wait for people to see the movie because I think we're making a very special Bond."
From the linked article. These words are music to my ears. I do hope Wilson's Goldfinger radar is well tuned. If SF could get back to a Connery/Goldfinger vibe, this movie could be something very special. :-bd
but it does have a special vibe to it.
although i do like Thunderball more than GF i think. Thunderball was gorgeous to look at.
Except, I will just have to respectfully disagree with you there. GF rather is a perfect Bond film. Flawless in every way. I wouldn't change a frame. Every day I pause to marvel at its sheer Bondian brilliance. If Bond fandom were a religion, there would be a special GF prayer. The Goldfinger, it would be called ^:)^
"There's a magical Goldfinger feel surrounding it all."
Wilson could offer no higher praise. All I can says is :-O Wow!
