Agreed! But I don't think I can wait until November, man! :P ;)

Oh you are killing me! =))

By the way, looking at the older photos of Luciana, she only looks a bit like Volpe in the top one with the book, in my humble opinion. Almost girl next door in the others. Still lovely, of course.

Oh we need some new pics on this new page ... somebody help us ... :)

FYI: Denise Richards is now starring in the American daytime soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful.

Is she the first Bond girl (desperate enough) to do daytime TV?

Here's a little tidbit that I don't remember if I've heard before, but Thandie Newton mentions in this great interview that she auditioned for 'Daniel Craig's first Bond film', so presumably that's for Vesper. I could certainly have seen her in that.

Thandie Newton would have made a perfect moneypenny more than vesper. Sadly, that ship has sailed.

Yep, good as Moneypenny, but I think she'd have been a good Vesper.

A tad too famous for either I think.

As much as i like thandie i don't think she is in the same league as Eva.

Well I've said it before but I don't really rate Green all that highly in CR. I think it's a bit of an odd performance, with her strange breathless croaky lines and killing some of the sparkly lines stone dead with her flat delivery; and I don't think they make an incredible screen couple. And although I don't find accents all that important, she's not a very believable Englishwoman. I think Newton has given better performances in things I've seen her in, and I could imagine her doing strong flirty sparkly much better, but as she says, she wasn't at her best frame of mind at that time.
I think I remember, they cast Vesper really late in day (had they even started shooting before they had an actor?) so I do tend to wonder if they struggled to find one they were really happy with.

I think it really doesn't matter if Green was cast a bit late or sooner. She played one of the few important female characters of the series, gorgeous and intelligent, a rare breed i might. I could agree about her accent though but not about her dialogue delivery. Her first scene in train to her argument with bond when she said "you lost because of your ego" clearly proved it. She was also pretending to love bond and lying at the same time, something that can confuse audience at times. Just like Craig, at times she played a little harsh and at times she showed a little softer side of her character when she said "you love me" at the beach. I don't think i came across any performance of Newton which close to that.

One thing that i have said before, if you want to test any actor or actress, watch their worst performance, you will get the answer . I can't find a single performance from Eva that i find really really bad. Even supporting roles from her just light up the screen. This might be a fan talking but i have watched every single performance of her, (might be the only actress of the series) even when few film's of her wasn't really my cup of tea.

Fair enough, I'm not going to say you're wrong as it's all a matter of opinion, but I don't think I've seen her in anything where she's hugely impressed me. She's fine, I just can imagine other actresses doing a lot more with that.

I doubt that. I think she was the perfect Vesper Lynd, and she and Craig had real chemistry together! That first train meet is probably my favourite scene in CR! You should check her out in 'The Dreamers', and she was very impressive in 'Penny Dreadful' with Timothy Dalton!

Well, I can. Every time I watch the train scene I think of how someone with a lighter, wittier touch like, say, Diana Rigg would have improved it. Craig's playing it well but he's got nothing to bounce it off of.
I've seen The Dreamers, yes, not Penny Dreadful.

Yes, they started filming before the role of Vesper had been cast. Charlize Theron was another who was considered. Not sure if she was offered the role.

Regarding Eva Green's accent, I always assumed movie Vesper was from a bicultural family, with a French mother or something. It never bothered me.

Just came across a Q&A with Rosamund Pike on Twitter. She said the character she would like most is Miranda Frost.
