Yes, but then every Bonds did when they're surrounded by ladies.
Moore also did in Octopussy, at every moment, he's always surrounded by ladies ;)
Poor Marie.
That's quite an interesting one since it's an often-repeated fact by various sources that Connery and Maxwell were never on set together for this film, and yet clearly, they were.
Live And Let Die
(Picture of Moore being taken to the Barber for a haircut).
I can't wait. She is such a graceful beauty, isn't she?
Yes, I may agree with you here in regards of tropes like martinis, tuxedos, and etc (although from some Behind The Scenes facts, Moore was also meant to wear a tux in the film too but it didn't happened:
https://www.bondsuits.com/moores-unused-dinner-jacket/).
(And he did also drank a martini with Solitaire at Kananga's lair in the finale) and like what I'm always saying, in terms of Bond portrayal, Lazenby did had the human and vulnerability at least (something that Sean Bond really lacked), and that still made him a bit different.
And they've did inserted a bit of Connery Bond in Moore in TMWTGG (his treatment of Andrea Anders comes to mind, and some dialogues).
And even when after Moore left, Dalton in TLD still gathered some of the Moore leftovers, like one liners and jokes, and some action sequences, that's why I really think and felt that TLD was in some ways, still a Moore Bond film.
That's the thing when the actor stayed longer in the role, like Moore and Connery having an effect on Lazenby and Dalton's films.
And I think the same would be said for Craig, especially in this time and era (and the fact that he stayed in the role for so long)? I think the next Bond may still have some Craig leftovers.
How is Lazenby human and vulnerable? I don't see it except for the ending of the film. Watch Connery in TB getting chased by Fiona, watch Connery handing Domino her brothers effects and notice the hand shake. Look at his face in TB when he thinks Largo is going to kill him. FRWL when Klebb is about to kill him. FRWL when Grant has him on his knees. Lazenby was merely playing Bond as Connery would play Bond. The audience is left to compare and Lazenby isn't the actor that Connery is and doesn't have the charisma of Connery.
Sorry for getting us off course. I will wrap up by saying whoever made the decision to have Moore's Bond be different was very smart and set Moore up for success!
Moore's Bond did had a drink with Solitaire in the finale of LALD, it's even seen in pictures (I'm assuming it's a Martini).
The vulnerability of Lazenby that I'm pointing out is the falling in love thing, Connery's Bond never showed it, so that falling in love thing is what makes him at least a bit different, he's soft towards women, compared to Connery's version which was tough towards women.
But it's not a problem for me.
And again Moore did a Connery Bond impression in TMWTGG, (the way he treated Andrea Anders and some of the dialogues, it felt a bit closer to Connery's version).
TMWTGG is Moore's attempt at doing a Connery Bond, so at some point, they've still made an attempt to have Moore do a Connery Bond, and as the box office showed, it's a failure.
But as you said, it's smart (again, except TMWTGG), that's still makes the franchise survived after all, Moore made Bond survived in the 70's, just like how Brosnan survived Bond in the 90's.
Also, the image you provided from LALD with Bond and Solitaire, they're drinking champagne, not vodka martini's.
I'm just replying to @thedove's post.
Anyway, thanks for the info about the champagne.
I promise, you're going to love tomorrow's selection @DarthDimi ;)
