Well, the best collection any of us could have is our collection of memories: the first time we read the novels, the first time we saw the films, the first time we listened to the soundtracks - and how we felt discovering and then falling in love with the wonderful world of 007. No amount of memorabilia can compare to that.

B&W UK FOH set from (presumably) a 70's reissue of DAF. Although you can't see it clearly Fleming is spelt Flemming. What a shameful mistake by someone!

Yes. Reading the last few pages there has been some outstanding collections and array of merchandise that owners can take pride in, while others can only look on enviously

@quantumofsolace, I love the bottom left photo of Connery going through the tunnel. Reminds me of a 50's horror film.

UK FOH set of an amazing 007-Fest from the early 70's. I think this season lasted a week with a different film every night. Double-oh-heaven!

Recently, I continued with my purchases of the original Fleming novels (Vintage "photocover" editions) with Goldfinger, For Your Eyes Only and Thunderball. Now to find the time to read them...

Make time, Gerard! I'm currently re-reading them for about the hundredth time (okay, slight exaggeration there) and am every bit as spellbound by Ian Fleming's words now as I was way back in 1973 when I first fell in love with them. The films simply cannot compare.

Souvenir programme from the Midlands charity premiere of TLD in Nottingham, with proceedings introduced by the splendid Thomas Wheatley. One of the great nights of my 007-loving life. After seven increasingly silly Jolly Roger outings I never thought Bond would be taken seriously again. Thankfully I was proved wrong.

@karven, this looks like you're trying to plug your business, rather than share your Bond collection.
    Tell me this isn't so.

Recently picked up this lot on Ebay for less than £5 and with free postage. Bit of a bargain, I reckon...

@quantumofsolace That's awesome! Major score there. Don't mind me asking, but was it an auction by any chance?

It was indeed, QBranch. I just put in a token bid a little over the starting price fully expecting to be swept away by a slew of other bidders - but to my astonishment mine was the only bid. Another day this lot would doubtless have gone for much, much more. C'est la Ebay!
  • I traded my bond DVDs for the 50 set and have the first 9 Fleming Books, 5 of Gardner's, 2 Young Bonds, DMC, CB, and Solo. I have the Micro machines set. Got 007 Cologne both original and Quantum. Got the video games: AUF, NF, EoN and FRWL

That's the way it goes- it's all about timing. I've bought a fair bit of Bond stuff on ebay in the last year or so, but most notably, I scored the 1981 Zeon FYEO promo watch complete with case, packaging and even the original mail order flyer for next to nothing. I was expecting someone to snipe it at the last second for a lot more than my measly $40! :)) :-bd

As for passing it on to my children @Samuel001, I just can't seem to get them interested in Bond, I may just end up having it all buried with me!
That is one amazing collection Saunders. I recognize a lot of it from my own collection but there is a thoroughness to it that stands out- a dedication to complete various subcategories.
Real nice job on the magazines and clippings, organizing them in binders and such. I have my mags in piles and clippings tucked away in file folders. Getting everything into a scrapbook or binder format would be a worthy project, I think.

You have maybe the world's best collection of books, video, music, mags and articles ever assembled. Bravo!

I think what all of us collectors would really value would be a collection of first edition Fleming hardbacks and paperbacks.
A handful of 007 hardbacks. Doubt if any of them are rare. And condition isn't great. Picked them up for pennies on market stalls back in the 70's.

They all look rare to me. I think some of those are original hardback cover art at least, if not first edition printings.
The fact you bought them in the '70s makes them rare, in that they are all roughly 40 years old at least and not findable any more, except from other collectors.

It says that there is an interview with Grace Jones inside, could you take a photo of it please? I am very curious as to what she talks about, as interviews with Jones about her role as Mayday are pretty rare...
