Where have I been these last weeks, missing Georgio's Olympic game?

Never mind, here is the vote from the Nackers jury.

    1st. Shirley Bassey
    2nd. Louis Armstrong
    3rd. Paul McCartney
    4th. Carly Simon
    5th. Matt Munro
    6th. rita Coolidge
    7th. Garbage
    8th. Chris Cornell.

That concludes the voting for the Nackers jury

    My choices:

    1. Dusty Springfield (CR'67)
    2. Shirley Bassey (GF, DAF, MR)
    3. Louis Armstrong (OHMSS)
    4. Nancy Sinatra (YOLT)
    5. Matt Monro (FRWL)
    6. Carly Simon (TSWLM)
    7. Sheryl Crow (TND)
    8. a-ha (TLD)

Dionne Warwick's Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang would be in my top8 as well, but it's not eligible, so...

Could you please vote in the manner @Vancouver007 and I have voted? Ensures the voting's uniformed across the tournament then - which makes it easier for me and fair for everyone else. Thanks...! :)

Once again, it's been a week, peeps, so let's see whether we've all harmoniously come together to crown a Bond tune champion... ;)

Well, I can declare that, yes, we have pulled our collective weight and decided that Shirley Bassey is well and truly the queen of the 007 title song performers. Yup, the girl from Tiger Bay has purred her way to the gold medal, peeps. Hardly much of a shocking, simply shocking shock to anyone, surely. And it's a good day in the recording studio too for Macca and co. who take the silver; in doing so, just pipping Carly 'Slap My Ass' Simon who must contend herself with the bronze. Few do it better than her and only two have when it comes warbling for the cinematic Bond.

The next three places are filled, respectively, by Nancy Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and Duran Duran, who (thanks to their terrific performances of three terrific tunes) creditably fill out fourth, fifth and sixth. The perennial pants-attracter that is Tom Jones just edges out johnny-come-lately Chris Cornell for seventh, while golden oldie Matt Monro can feel a little aggrieved to have missed out on the scoring-points-for-your-country-in-the-Medals-Table party by finishing ninth.

So, thanks to La Bassey winning their first gold medal of the contest, Wales move up two places to third; their tally boosted by Tom The Jones adding another couple of points too. But the big movers are the Yanks, as they jump an impressive six places up to second, nestling there snugly thanks to Ms Simon claiming their first medal of the tournament and them placing four other times in this event as well (mind you, more than half of the event's competitors were American, so you do the math ;) ).

Elsewhere, despite putting up three entrants for Event 3, Scotland didn't gain any points as none of them finished in the top eight. It's better news south of the border, though, for England win another medal and place again, ensuring 'The Barmy Army' now has a near 30-point cushion up there in top spot.

Event 4 coming right up, folks...! :)

On we go then, chaps, and up next it's...

    the_2012_james_bond_007_olympics-1-1-4.jpg

    <i>The competitors:</i>

germany_flag.jpg Ken Adam (DN, GF, TB, YOLT, DAF, TSWLM, MR)
england_flag.jpg Syd Cain (FRWL, OHMSS, LALD)
    england_flag.jpg Michael Stringer (CR '67)

    england_flag.jpg Allan Cameron (TND)
    canada_flag.jpg Dennis Gassner (QOS)

So, the task is simple... please arrange the above competitors into your favoured ordering - first to last (greatest to least) in terms of their <i>contribution to the cinematic James Bond</i>.

Voting for this event should remain open for <i>about a week</i>, after which the results and the updated Medal Table will be posted in this thread (as well as in the thread's opening post).

Oh, and just a reminder - when you do vote, please vote in this manner, chaps (as outlined in the thread's opening post); makes it a hell of a lot easier for me when I'm totting up the totals... ;)

    1st place (<font color=DarkOrange>Gold</font>) = 10 points
    2nd place (<font color=Gray>Silver</font>) = 8 points
    3rd place (<font color=SaddleBrown>Bronze</font>) = 7 points
    4th place = 5 points
    5th place = 4 points
    6th place = 3 points
    7th place = 2 points

Over to you, folks - get voting...! :)
