there would be a difference in filming it for fun - and for profit.... mine is purely for fun.
Aha, thank you!
- Good luck to you too on your short horror feature! (The first thing i ever filmed, back in early 2006, was supposed to be a 'horror', and i highly enjoyed making it, even if when i look back at it now, i do find it embarrisingly bad! But atleast it was what got me into film making!)
And like many others on here have also done, i have also attempted my very own Bond films. Although mine never got round to really starting (Just the opening sequences, before the titles)
Check out the other competitions I have listed in the News section, including Sundance London.
BTW, any of you want to upload your showreels on to my site, feel free....and it is free too!

I am very proud to announce that my 'short-short' film, '13:03' has been greatly accepted among my friends and family, it is the first film i have shared with others, and i was hugely suprised at how much they actually liked it! I only have DVD copies of it at the moment, but i may eventually upload it to YouTube.
Ha ha, cheers, I will most likely upload it at some point, then post a link here, but I think i'd do that after I have a couple of more projects on the go. I am filming a short 10 minute film this weekend, I will most likely end uploading either one soon!
He produces two-three weekly shows on DIY film-making, effects, foley, etc. etc. and is pretty good. He's creates these often humorous sketches through the episodes that are done very well and tomorrow he's releasing his teaser for his first 'official' short film, called 'TELL' assumingly about a date gone wrong or a very bad boyfriend.
But I'll post it once its up, it goes live 12:01am EST here in the US. I think I have the poster somewhere...
Edit: here's the poster:

And here's the trailer! One thing that sticks out to me is the music, very well done!
Only issue, and I'm picky, was the voice of the actor.. he sounded like he was acting towards the start of the trailer.
"I didn't think I could do it. But.. the screaming" AARRRRGGHH C L I C H E .
But for a first time, I'm impressed. But who am I to judge?
It's like 13 min- About a girl trying to get over her ex and come to terms with the breakup.
Do most of you write your own scripts? And if so, how long does it usually take for the whole process to finish?

I write my own scripts yes. Firstly, being young, I haven't really got the money to hire people to write scripts, or purchase the rights for them. But also because I believe if you write a film and then go on to direct it, you have a better understanding of the charecters, the story and everything about the film.
In terms of time, to write a short film (maybe 14-20 pages) it would take maybe a month, that's if you wrote at least 3/4 of a page per day. For features, it can take around 5 months, however there is a book on "How to write a script in 21 days"- but this is for working non stop.
Following this, the writing, the script is then edited, and more drafts are produces. So for short films, to have a finished, shootable script, around 3-4 months. For features, about 7-8 months.
James, :D
Yup!
I write my own scripts, i've always preferred writing them myself, as it's usually me who comes up with an idea to base the film on, where i go on to direct it the way i first imagined it.
I try to do 'short-short' films at the moment, usually lasting around 5 / 10 minutes; two of my 'short-shorts' are approximately 4 - 5 minutes long, but I only wrote a 1 page script to each, which never took long to write, but took around 3 - 4 hours to shoot in one day.
