Oh, I didn't read all of the review so I didn't spot that. Guess the cat's out of the bag and all that.
Watson sleeping with Mycroft. Sleeping meaning sex of course.

Please tell me you are joking about that. PLEASE.

Not joking. Granted I just read it online and it is a spoiler ... so sorry to bug you in case you wanted to see the show ... but yeah, that's what I read.

If that's what actually happens, then I don't really think I'm missing anything by not seeing it. I mean, did the writers think that since they couldn't get away with that between Watson and Holmes they should go with the next best thing? :-&

I think the writers are doing all they can do be totally different with Holmes. I really wish they just named the characters other names, to be honest.

I think I even heard that Sherlock makes a comment about astronomy at one point in a case. :-S

Oh dear, it's even worse than I thought :-& They should put a warning before each episode "Any similarity with the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is pure coincidence".

And Martin will be portraying Richard III late this year it seems.

Cumberbatch will be Hamlet (I forget when, this year), and Martin will be Richard III. Good to get those Shakespearean urges satisfied. :)

Some of you liked the first parody I posted, so here is another.

Holy smokes. The guy that plays Sherlock in those parodies is named Vidar Magnussen. /:)

Yes? Please elaborate, @OBradyMOBondfanatic7.Lost on me, not being top notch in English or Holmes lore.

The actor playing Holmes is named Vidar Magnussen. I pointed out his last name because when BBC Sherlock adapted the Doyle story "Charles Augustus Milverton" for the season three finale of the show they changed the title villain's name from Milverton to Magnussen. I simply find it funny that the actor playing Holmes in the parodies and the BBC Sherlock villain share the same name. :)

The video of the Royal Television Society even Sherlock: Anatomy of a hit was made available. It's amazing for any fan of BBC Sherlock ;)

Some news from Martin Freeman and the possibility of a Christmas special for Sherlock:
    http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-04-24/martin-freeman-next-sherlock-is-a-one-off-special

And also something I watched the other day and forgot to leave a link here. Mark Gatiss' introduction to the BFI screening of Billy Wilder's The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes: http://explore.bfi.org.uk/53563ca354098?utm_content=bufferc26fa&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitterbfi&utm_campaign=buffer
A note about this film, it's one of those films that has a cult following albeit not being one of the big adaptations. I only found out about it because of Gatiss himself who is a big fan of it. I think it's brilliant and an obvious influence on BBC Sherlock. It's incredibly funny and witty but in the end punches you in the stomach. Needless to say it's a must watch for any Holmes fan.

I need to see Private Life, definitely.

As for the idea Gatiss and co. have, I can't even take a stab at a guess. It depresses me slightly that we have to wait so long between seasons but the cliffhanger for series 3 was definitely the most enjoyable yet if only because nobody was in any kind of peril at the end. For two years after last season we had to think about poor John being haunted by Sherlock's "death" and all the stages of grief that go with it and the whole "bomb in the pool room" scenario of series 1, but thankfully this time nobody got put in any mental or physical danger. In that way at least the wait won't be as agonizingly horrific.

One more piece of news for today, Benedict Cumberbatch is on the 100 most influential list of Time magazine. Colin Firth wrote a nice little text to go with a spectacular photo.

A great tribute to the man by Mr. Firth. Benedict is one of the few people in the world's limelight that I can truly say I look up to. It would be the sincerest of pleasures to one day meet him, if I could ever be so lucky.

Well, great to read; thanks, Sandy for all of the above info. And personally, I hope we get a Sherlock special every Christmas! Even if just a short bit. They could make it a tradition and make a lot of people very happy. :)

Especially if they would put it on some DVD or the like. I´m still shocked that the brilliant mini-episode from last Dec is nowhere on the disc.

If you watch the video I posted earlier Sherlock: The Anatomy of a Hit the producers answer to that question.

Oh, I only noticed it now! Great video! But I don´t want to watch it all now. Do you remember what they said about the mini-episode, or where they said it?

:D They didn't know! Moffat told the guy to rip it off the internet like everybody does. I knew it was around the end so went back and found it, from 1h08' onwards. Do watch it if you can, it's very entertaining.

Thanks! Found it :-) ! Those guys by themselves are always such amazing entertainers! And I found it very nice when Moffat acknowledged they ripped the Sherlock-Maoriarty-meeting-after-the-trial scene from somewhere else ;-) .

Yes, they are! The ability to laugh at one's self is one of my favourite things and they obviously have that.

Moffat gave an interview to a Swedish program that is quite nice: http://www.svt.se/babel/se-program/del-7-272?autostart=true
