The enemy seems to have Roger beaten
With his remaining hand, Moore reaches out and taps in his stuntan.
stuntman then smashes his fist over said enemy's face.
    Moore/stuntman win.

None of Moore's stuntmen can defy physics like Brosnan did in the GE PTS or the DAD surfing. He wins.

None of them are really tough, just big girls who need stuntmen. Doing the own stunts thing is just propaganda!

How would this fight be staged though? AVTAK Moore vs CR Craig is an amusing thought!

The only scenes where Lazenby had a stuntman were the skiing scenes. He didn t know how to ski.

Dalton did most himself to the dismay of Cubby.

DC wins this hands down. It isn't even worth debating. His quick disposal of Slate is proof positive that he's the biggest bad@ss Bond ever.

Connery would hold him by the head with one hand and jab the crap out of him with the other. DC wouldn't be able to get close enough to him because his reach likely isn't long enough.

Seriously though, I think Laz could take them all with one hand tied behind his back.

There's two arguments going on here, some of us are talking the actors themselves, some are referring to their on-screen Bond personas.

In reality I go with George 100%. On-screen, Craig's Bond seems the toughest, yet he needed help (someone shooting the other party) taking out Mr. Hinx. Connery defeated Grant and Odd Job on his own. Not to mention a lot of guys on a rooftop in Japan.

Neither Grant nor Odd Job were as physically imposing as Hinx; besides, Connery's Bond didn't defeat Odd Job physically--he couldn't. He used cunning.

Except for a bit of struggle with Greene, wielding an ax, DC's Bond never struggled with underwhelming opponents as the other Bonds did. For instance, Connery's Bond had his hands full with a pudgy drug smuggler in an elevator. DC would have taken out Peter Franks in 15 seconds or less. Just sayin'. ;)

Joe Robinson was a black belt in Karate and a Judo champion and wrestler, he was pretty tough.

But Odd Job was no Hinx, as characters go. But he written as so. I'd buy SC's Bond as a bigger bad@ss if he'd been able to at least hurt Odd Job...even a little bit. DC's Bond while overwhelmed by Hinx, got some licks in and inflicted some pain.

Odd Job would have eaten Hinx for dinner.

ooooh, I dunno...But that would be a great debate for a new thread!

All the henchmen in a fight. Who wins? Jaws is a candidate.

And Mr Wint would have eaten MrKidd

Mr Wint would do a lot of things to Mr Kidd :)) which I sadly can't say directly as this is a family friendly forum, or so they say.

I still say Laz cleans this one up if it's a brawl. His Bond had the height, physique and speed.

If it's in a crowded place or in close quarters then I believe it's Moore or Connery. Both were 'smart' fighters using their surroundings to the best advantage.

I can see Craig coming at them both like a 'blunt instrument' and both would use something to put him off balance and then finish him off.

I think Craig and Moore would call their stuntmen to have the fight for them, meanwhile Rog and Dan would enjoy afternoon tea.

Dalton would first finish his stuntman off so he can make sure to have the fight himself.

That's not true. Lazenby could ski, but the producers would't allow him to ski due to the risk of injury and shutting down the movie.

Even Lazenby says: "I skied past the camera a few times. They wouldn’t allow me to ski but they’d allow me to do the fight scenes and hang on cables. I did most of it except the bobsled and the skiing which was great. A guy named Lucky Lightner did the skiing. He was amazing. He was an alcoholic. He couldn’t walk straight, but he could ski."

In another interview he said he didn t know how to ski. He probably meant at that level.
Good point about the bobsled scene. I forgot about that for a moment.

Tbh, while I don't doubt he was very athletic as a young man, I suspect Laz likes to embellish the experiences and skills he had in 1969. Who's honestly going to challenge him?

Actually, Dalton said it best. It doesn't matter whether the actor did it or the stuntman did it, the audience should believe "James Bond" did it. That's the thing with Lazenby as Bond: I could believe he could ski.

@Thunderfinger, I think you might be referring to an interview on this site done by MI6 where Lazenby was asked about his skiing abilities. He said: "I was skiing until I was 41 and then I took up motocross. And I did motocross until I was 57. I have taken my little children skiing and I’d be down the nursery slope with them. I’m not Willy Bogner or Luggi Leitner. When you see those guys ski, I can’t ski."

So what he's saying is, he's no Willy Bogner or Luggi Leitner, but he can definitely ski.

I think its a shame Laz never became a stuntman himself. He would have been great.

The toughest Bonds for me were Connery & Lazenby. The toughest in real life? The same. I know it's sharply edited & only fleeting but the fight between Bond & the henchmen when they are escorting him into Draco's office is pure gold.
  • If money was on the line I'd go Laz.

He took those guys out so laughably- reminded me of that Steven Seagal parody from MadTV (Skip to 3:20)

"Mr Director, what about the fight choreography?"
"Ah, just zoom out really far."

    Connery by far.

My money is on Sean or Lazer, but you could imagine Brozza playing some dirty trick and biting or something.

I agree. As far as I know (and I could be wrong), they are the only two who had some training in either boxing or martial arts. Brosnan might have a chance. I saw him box someone in a "Remington Steele" episode. He looked as if he really knew what he was doing.

Come to think of it, my favorite on screen Bond fight was between Pierce Brosnan and Sean Bean.

If you're talking about a gun fight, my money would be on Roger Moore. He seemed to be the only Bond actor who held a pistol or revolver properly in his gun barrel sequence. It's rather ironic, considering his dislike of guns.

In his prime Connery would have destroyed Brosnan in a fist fight. Only Laz would come close.

Laz claimed in a recent interview that Connery wouldn't walk down a flight of steps without calling for his stuntman.

Roger is always underrated in these discussions. Apparently he was kind handy in a fight.

I remember reading a story about Roger accidentally punching a guy and that guy being shocked at the power of the hit. Don't know if this was on a Bond set, however.

Roger was quite a puncher in The Saint series. He had a lost a few steps by the time he did Bond in his mid 40's but he was quite credible earlier in his career -moved much better.
