@chrisisall, @Creasy47, thanks, lads. It's quite the intimidating film to face because of the many versions of it out there. All right, the Final Cut it is. At least now I know what I'm looking for. ;)
I'm really wanting to hear someone review the Final Cut who has never seen the narrated version before!!

@MajorDSmythe, had my "film buff" friend ask me this morning who Charlotte Rampling is...

That's the problem with some film buffs - they know everything about films since their birth year. Before that they know Clint Eastwood, and have vaguely heard of John Wayne.

Sad but true. He still considers himself one, even though his field of view with cinema is very, very, very small, and limited to a select section of films. It's why I never take his opinions or thoughts seriously on any movie.

@Creasy47, what are your friend's thoughts on "Citizen Kane," "Casablanca" and other classic films of that time? Or as some people I know would call them, "those black and white things." #-o

Da what??? :-O I hope you have ki---, um, educated them.

Going back to Orson Welles, I don't think he had a great deal to do with The Third Man. Did he reportedly write the famous speech about the 'cuckoo clock' and make a brief appearance?
I would recommend one of his classic films which the studio hacked to pieces - The Magnificent Ambersons. Sadly there will never be a directors cut of this, but the butchered 85 minute version which is still inspired.

Orson is in The Third Man a good deal, @NicNac, which he should've been, as it all revolves around him. And there's even slight rumors in the depths of film history that he actually often took the directing reigns away from Carol Reed because many of the shots in the picture look very much like something he'd devise for his own films.

Aaaah, nice one. I was relying on a fading memory of the film. Very interesting. And I agree about the films 'look' being quite Welles like.

Going to finally go and see my first NHL game in over a decade live in just under a week, and on top of that, it's free, my tickets are in a suite, and I'm watching my favorite team play (and more than likely lose) to one of the best teams this season. I'm excited beyond belief.

Have fun, @Creasy47! As far as sports go, hockey's one of the more interesting ones for me. My dad's a big hockey head as well, so all I know of it is from simply watching it with him throughout the years. He's a Penguins and Sabres man primarily, though his admiration of the latter has soured in the intervening years as more and more of the star players went elsewhere or hung up their skates.

Thank you very much, @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7! That's very cool, the Penguins are my favorite team and they'll be going up against the Capitals (who are incredible this season) on Sunday! Cannot wait, just wish I had a proper Penguins jersey or shirt to wear to the game and show off to all the insane Caps fans, since it'll be at the Verizon Center down in D.C.

The Sabres haven't done too hot this season, but they did manage to beat the Caps the other day, which is a rather impressive feat.

Does anyone like watching Bond films while exercising? I find them great motivation to keep going.

I listen to "007 Takes the Lektor" when I clean my room. It's a great motivator.

yes, sometimes I listen to the scores too. Some are more appropriate for setting a mood than a heavy workout though.

I think that should fall under "don't ask, don't tell." Section 26, paragraph 8. Sure you understand. ;)

Next september, 8 years after dropping out of school, I'm heading back to high school to finally get my graduation diploma. It will take 2 years (until summer 2018), and I feel a lot more confident and mature than I did almost a decade ago.

That's very cool to hear, congratulations! I graduated high school roughly seven years ago, so you and I are around the same age, then. I wish you luck!

I think we were born in the same year, @Creasy47. Are you a 1991 kid too?

@DaltonCraig007, that I am! Born in May, so I wonder which one of us edges out the other in terms of age.

Have you settled on wanting to fully return and get your degree, or are you going for some form of a GED, which takes less time but is slightly harder?

    @Creasy47 I'm afraid I was born 2 months before you. :D

As for your question, I'm going to fully return for 2 years, for my 'junior' and 'senior' years, in US terms (according to wikipedia).
