    I'll stick to my Tormore.

Well, it's interesting at least, whatever your taste may be. One of the dist.’s that spend their budget on making a good malt rather than shouting about a bland product with marketing campaigns.
Personally I’ll always recommend Clynelish and GlenDronach, simply because they make some of the most interesting Scotch around.
  • Maybe someone can help me: the 10th anniversary of Casino Royale got me into a bit of a hunt for the perfect Vesper martini.
Back when it first came out, Lillet Blanc was widely available at your local liquor store- however I can honestly say I haven't seen it since at least 2012.
Lillet Blanc was a 'substitute' already for what Bond actually ordered: the Kina Lillet. Apparently there's a better one that supposedly tastes way closer to what Bond ordered than the Blanc ever did: Cocci Americano.

    1016274x.jpg

But of course, I can't find that either!!! Both the Cocci Americano & Lillet Blanc can be found online, but shipping tends to cost more than the stuff itself! Can anyone recommend a better alternative- maybe a website I haven't found yet, that won't screw you with shipping?

On the plus side, in my search today I did come across this:

I didn't even know that was a thing!

That's an Australian wine if I'm not mistaken
It's not a wine for laying down its a wine for running away from and avoiding !.

Nope, it's an American vineyard in Washington state. Funny though that P&W used the name 'Skyfall' as they thought it would be a good estate name. Skyfall washington (according to the site) was named after the giant boulders scattered over the estate, as if they'd been dropped from the sky. So P&W were sort of right....

@Master according to Wiki you can also try Tempus Fugit Spirits' Kina L'Aéro d'Or

It seems this is more readily availeable in the US.

If you'll forgive me, I find that a little too scented for my palate...I prefer the Cuiver Reserve Chateau Bottled Nuit San Wogga Wogga! Long live Python.

A few nights ago with supper, I had a dram of my favorite scotch, The Famous Grouse (18 year) which includes The Macallan and Highland Park. Another fave scotch is Highland Park (18 year)--the 12 year is tasty too--and The Macallan Cask Strength gets stretched a long way. I still have some Talisker (10 year) and the Ardbeg 10 year puts hair on your chest.

Sometimes I find a gin martini superb. Or a gin and tonic, and to that I sometimes add some white rum. Or straight vodka--I recommend Gera if you can find it, surprisingly economical for the great taste.

I don't know if you have it in the States as well, but I like a Vodka-Bitter Lemon now and then (Royal Club beeing the better brand, less sweet), half on half with a slice of lemon.

The Macallan indeed is a fine Whisky, as is Talisker. Tormore 12y/o is another one I really like.

And the local cocktail bar serves a Vesper - alike martini of which I keep on forgetting the name of the flower liquor they use. But it's 90-20-20. We came to this after several long nights....

Everyday drinking?? No, just once or twice a week :D

Seriously though, I like to drink different ales and currently have quite a stash at home. Over the weekend I was drinking a lovely grapefruit infused pale ale called Elvis Juice. I kid you not, make of that what you will. The wife asked if it had been cryogenically frozen for the last 40 years!!

I tried to acquire a taste for scotch but I just can't. I have bought two bottles of the stuff, finished both of them, and whenever I try to drink it neat -- no matter how small I sip, no matter the brand -- I thoroughly dislike it.

I prefer rum or american whiskey and soda.

But the best alcoholic drink is wine, definitely. A leather-y deep red.

I actually searched out this discussion as related to a wine I just bought--seems like the same as the missing image.

Not expensive, but this Skyfall wine label looks nice enough on the shelf.
Are there other spirit products on the market to associate by name with Bond?

Damnit, that's so annoying how images seem to have an 'expiration date'....
I swear the image used to be there!

I did a little research and found this available locally, for me that means outside Washington, DC.
From California at about US45.00 it's more than I usually pay to suit my simpler tastes.
They got me with the bird, though.

Well it's a 2011 pinot noir, those should be at least a bit better then just your average bottle.

    That's awesome, @Agent_99.

Here's one for simpler tastes, yes, with a screw cap.
Strawberry Fields Rosé, from Western Australia.

And a classier one, from Graceland, Strawberry Fields Cabernet Sauvignon. South Africa.

I have one bottle of this for Vespers:
    20622090_681881664853_4357618627267898347_n.jpg?oh=d0060501074a136cf6f903ba36d87ec3&oe=5A3623DD
That I have never opened because I only found exactly *one* bottle of it (and I took a chopper to get it, but that's a long story :P).
  • I've used up the bottle of Cocchi Americano I had on Vespers. I must find another one soon.

Thanks to everyone who mentioned Cocchi Americano; I'd never heard of it, but it turns out to be available at my favourite online boozodrome (https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/12001/aperitivo-cocchi-americano) so I'm planning to place an order.

They also do export strength Gordon's for yr Vesper needs.

Or if you want to go really authentic, buy a bottle from the Fifties...
