@risico, there can be a B25, no problem.
Bring in another non-drama director and we could rejuvenate Bond and get him back on mission minus personal drama, if Craig would allow such a thing.
Criaig might just quit after SP though if this movie really is about tying up the whole, who was really behind the Vesper saga.
Yes, like I said. I never thought, there would be a connection between 24 and 25. Mendes won't do 25. Period.
That's true but then Bond 24 and 25 was originally meant to be one story but Mendes scrapped this idea so maybe they renegotiated Craig's contract after this.
@Risico007
Personally, although I know it will never happen and he's difficult to work with, I'm all for Christian Bale. Always thought he should have been the man before he was taken for Batman.
I was talking to @antovolk about it and he seems to be reliable and in the know. Apparently there have been some changes (something I read in the leaks that really shocked me has now been cut from the script) but a lot of it is still in there.
@Germanlady The thing about the ending though is that it is, without wanting to spoil anything, the natural conclusion. What the whole film seems to build towards. Changing it just to spite the hackers would be a bad move imo because we could be left with an ending that doesn't really fit.
Having not read the leaks, but reading this forum (and reading between the lines), the suggested conclusion to SP seems (to me) perfectly natural in terms of Bond's (Craig's) journey so far. Bond 25 might explore elements still unused from Fleming's YOLT novel, and perhaps that was the basic link Logan proposed between Bond 24 and 25. Gold for script writers.
Also, Bond quits MI6 at the end of the film, throws his gun in the river and drives off. So I'm assuming there will be a new actor, unless they do a Bond coming out of retirement story for the next one. But the problem with that is, SPECTRE links all the previous Craig films together and finishes that story. Another Craig movie after this could seem a bit tacked on imo.
Again, to me, it's the TDKR element to your speculation that makes it somewhat plausible. It would all make sense and come together, just like TDKR does.
OK, makes sense and like its been said, 99% of the moviegoes won't have an idea.
I suppose, its as it always was, a contract is tomorrows *** paper. DC will stay for 25, if Spectre is making enough money. If its a disappointment, he will reconsider his involvement in the next as will the rest of the bunch. Barbara sure won't be keen to let him go - ever. But it surely has nothing to do with this being a one or two parter. DC himself always says, that beyond the next, he can't see.
It's too early to tell that.
I 'm sure that producers have a faith in Craig so he'll be in Bond 25
Though I kind of dont want a reboot soft or hard for bond 25...
Maybe you could have Blofeld live, and have Bond go after him in the next film (as a rogue agent since he's retired) but then that wouldn't make sense. Bond throwing his gun away is symbolic, he's finally moving on from being a spy and going to live a normal life. Having him do that, then go after Blofeld, would be dumb imo. It wouldn't really work.
So I think Blofeld will die. I'm pretty sure it says so in the leaks anyway.
The CR story was nicely tied up with QoS, and even that conclusion was arguably not needed.
Re-visiting the CR story yet again is piling drama upon drama.
All that needed resolution really was some winding down of Quantum as an organization.
I was hoping SP might be re-launch of sorts to bring in Blofeld and Spectre as recurring nemesis.
Instead we get Spectre doubled down (wasted) as excuse to continue the never ending drama which drove the last two films.
And to think the ending of SF held such promise .
if the ending is as described and it probably is, then Craig should really just quit . Old dog done.
4 film story arc done.
As an aside, was it really needed to rewrite Fleming's OP with Dexter Smythe no longer as Hans Oberhauser's killer, assuming that's how things play out!?
Further discussion regarding the leaks as we understand them should probably go there, rather than clutter up this more general thread
It definitely looks to be the most ambitious Bond ever with number of location and in terms of story, presenting a big threat and bringing back a big foe as well as bringing everything full circle from last 3 films.
As for plot details, reminds me of Interstellar 2008 draft leaking, surprising amount of elements such as act 1 and actually the very very end/coda kept the same, but act 2 and most of main part of act 3 completely different. People didn't care that much.
Of course not. The more I know or think I know, the better, for opening night.
