That's a very subjective statement, sir. I'm not prone to getting hyped myself yet I love the Nolan Batmans. I've been a Batman fan for nearly 24 years, I've read buckets full of Batman comics and I've watched the Batman movies a gazillion times, including the animated ones. Well, I for one LOVE The Dark Knight and Batman Begins. And I think my opinion is a legitimate as yours. I am a fanboy, sure, but hype means nothing to me. I just love those films. I still love BB, after 7 (!) years. If it were a matter of hype, it would have cooled down by now. I acknowledge that Nolan's films are polarizing. I myself love his cold, cerebral and concise filmmaking but I know some folks don't. Well, they needn't worry. After TDKR, it's back to phase I and an entirely new approach to Batman can come to be. I don't understand this anti-Nolan 'hype', which has been screaming at least as loud as the Nolan fandom. We got the light and tasteful Burton films, we got the silly and OTT Schumacher films. Now we got the dark and mature Nolan films. Who knows what the future will bring us.
With all due respect, friend, I believe you have turned 16 this year. Forgive me for my arrogant presumptions but maybe you need to give the Nolan films another chance in about 4 or 5 years. Back when I was your age, I was all about the Burtons. I can't tell how I'd have felt about the Nolans then, had they been made that is. But when I saw Batman Begins in theatres at age 23, I was excited again. By then, the Burtons had lost some of their charm for me. A few years sometimes make a lot of difference. ;-)
Haha, such a waste on a actor like Clooney to be a part in Batman And Robin... And Jim Carrey as the riddler? Seriously, that has always bothered me.
Lucky for us that we now have a great trilogy with a man who knows what's he doing. I really like this dark direction that the movies have taken!
That is how the story of Batman should be portrayed. A man's quest to find order in the world of chaos that took his parents away from him should never be represented any other way than profound and emotionally.
Yes, that was the way i saw the comics. Even though i don't have problem with a new franchise which is a bit more unserious.
But i still find the Batman Animated Series from the early 90's the best!
You are one of the few then, @DaltonCraig007 ;-). When I talked about BB in school, almost none of my younger pupils had seen the film. My older guys and girls, 18 and 18+, seemed more into the film.
I have both a cellphone and Facebook/Twitter and i still enjoys Nolans movies. And not just his Batman films.
I think what 0Brady implies isn't necessarily that cellphones and a praise for Nolan's films don't match. But if you're one of those whose lives are controlled by cellphones and Facebook and who can't even sit through an entire film without checking their Facebook account at least twice, you probably don't belong to these films' demographic.
For the record, I agree with 0Brady on this one.
Moblies are cool though. It's amazing how 20 odd years ago barely anybody had one, and now not only do I have one I can text people, use a touch screen, watch videos and, wait for it, play Sonic! The annoying thing is when some people are on their phones all the time.
Those are people I have issues with. It is fine to own a phone, but when it becomes your life you must be purged.
Yep. One of my fiances mates puts every little thing she does on Facebook, everytime I see her she's typing something on her Blackberry. It's really sad.
Spoiler: IT'S GONNA BE BRILLIANT! The wait is almost over! I am shaking in my custom made Bat-pajamas!!! :P
Hahaha, you have some?! Where did you get them?!?! Hahaha.

I don't care about post count. I am just batty for Batman. TDKR has that special something, I just know it.
