Boring is definitely the most ridiculous description anyone has ever put to them, no offence mate.
QoS is better than TWINE and DAD, but GE and TND are both decent.
No, YOU think it is. I prefer all the Brosnan films to QOS, I have it just below DAD in last place on my ranking.
I really enjoyed GE, TND (although Carver was crap), and TWINE.
I'm so sorry you put DAD above QoS.
Only one place above. I actually like alot of DAD, the North Korea scenes, the Cuba scenes, the London scenes. I think people forget the good parts thanks to the terrible CGI, the pointless references to past films, Jinx and the f***ing invisible car!
There's a statement I will agree with. People forget that there is a lot of good parts to Die Another Day that are lost amidst the bad CGI, bad quips and the invisible car.
Quantum also has its moments of good, but there is also a lot of bad. People don't think clearly enough when it comes to these things in my opinion.
On the whole I prefer QOS but that's not to say it's much better than DAD, and neither are the my least favourite Bond movies.
QoS sucks the chrome of a Aston MArtin DB5 exhaustpipe, it is not better than................anything ever made with a character by the name of James Bond in it. Jeez even Casino Royale '67 was better and more coherent.
Just my humble opinion of course. :!!
Laying into QoS is so 2008!
Is the last 007 outing already four years ago???
And time still does nothing with that enormous wound.
What works in OP's favour, I've always thought, is that a majority of it is set in India which never seems to age. Is probably why RM looks good in it, unlike he may do in AVTAK. OP is a cracking film with a cracking plot and definetly a very strong entry to the series. Daniel Criag can only dream to make a Bond movie of this quality.
Roger Moore giving them teenagers a rude gesture when they tease him with a lift always makes me laugh aswell! Haha
He did. It was called Casino Royale
In fact it was better quality some would argue, no dumb Tarzan Yells, sitting tigers or Croc' disguises this time round. Straight faced Bond, no nonsense
Even Martin Campbell who did GE and CR disliked QoS
I'm not a huge fan of Cambell. He did some good work in CR but overall I find that film overlong and slightly dull. You know my views on GE.
QoS may be all the things its detractors accuse it of, but it's still a better film than any of the Brozza entries.
No, YOU think it is. At least put imo or I think before you say stuff like that, because not everyone agrees.
I KNOW people disagree. I thought that was the point of the thread...
Well put I think before it.
Another controversial opinion, I think that DN is boring, slow, and no where near as good as people say it is.
I watched it the other day. I enjoyed it. The pace is actually nice and it is amazing how the film defines the 'formula' right there from the first outing. The production design is good and Sean is terrific right from the start. I'll agree that the pace now seems a leeetle slow, but it's part of the charm.
Yeah, for me, DN is definetly the most boring Bond film. I think FRWL, GF, TB and YOLT are much, much better films. DN and DAF are imo the worst Connery films.
That's kind of my problem. Towards the end it really gets good, but the first half bores me to death. Whenever I watch it late at night I always skip forward a bit so I don't fall asleep.
I can understand where people come from when they say Dr. No is boring, I do. As a matter of fact, just a couple years ago DN was on the bottom half of my list for that very reason. But something changed for me...I'm always engrossed in DN whenever it happens to be on. Something I can't really explain.
I feel the opposite. I love the build up to Crab Cay.
Watch the scene again. Bond is in a race against time to stop the bomb and is being chased by German police and US forces. There is no way he is going into that tent as he is. So like spies SHOULD do (and what Bond doesn't do enough of in the films imo), Bond uses his cover and goes in disguise to help get the mission accomplished. The most obvious disguise is obviously a clown. Notice when Bond is dressed as a clown, there is no silly moments. It's not like he does any tricks or that, or plays around with people. He is deeply worried and scared and that shows on his face when talking to the base commander. The clown costume hides the seriousness of the situation. The clown costume is needed. As such, the hate this scene is undeserved.

Heartily agree. Have to say its my favourite countdown scene as Rog really sells the desperation and the fact no one actually believes him just ramps the tension right up.
There are a lot of flaws in the India sequence but the PTS, the auction, the backgammon scene and everything after Bond arrives in Germany are practically flawless.
