Never been a fan of the DB5, and after so many appearances, I am sick of the sight of it. Just nuke the damn thing, and never bring it back ever again. The V8 Vantage and DBS (OHMSS) are much better looking, in fact, I would go further and say that the DBS is the best looking Bond car, full stop.

Lazenby's was a beaut, all right.

@Birdleson I would love it if Bond’s 1930 Bentley 4.5 liter blower showed up in a Bond movie as his personal car. Nice nod to Fleming. He doesn’t even have to drive it, necessarily, at least park it in front of his flat.

Astons from the 60's is one thing; there's no way to make that 30's blower look at all in place in a modern Bond film (as cool as it'd be).
I still say give him an updated Bentley, as they've been giving him updated Astons.

I think that beautiful 1930s Bentley could be used in a very small scene in the future.... James Bond blowing off steam at an old race car track where he's stored a car he inherited (from his uncle Ian).

He's blowing laps around the track when M calls him back to the office... Or something not nearly as bad as that. But damn, that Bentley should show up in a Bond film (Union Jack on the door as well!).

    Controversial opinion:

I think Sir Roger Moore looked his BEST in A VIEW TO A KILL.
He's lean, mean, has cool clothes and is as dashing as ever.

When I first saw AVTAK I thought he looked pretty good, leaner and a bit younger, except when he moved.

On the cool clothes I have two words against that: track suit. Although I dig the riding clothes.

One could say Bond driving an old relic like the 1964 Aston Martin in the 2000s is no different to Fleming Bond driving a 1930 Bentley in the 1950s.

I would like to see the 1930 Bentley make a cameo at least.

Sounds like something from Trigger Mortis, a book to adapt.

It would be brilliant to have his old Bentley in a future film. They could easily do it as Peter has eluded to. We know Fleming's Bond loved his cars and loved driving well in his personal life.
If you think about it the films have never touched on that. Bond driving on film is nearly always on a mission or something related. The only example of him driving in his own time to my memory is driving up to the hotel with his golf clubs at the beginning of OHMSS. Any others?
On the same note Bond's 'own' cars have always been company cars. Or he has driven something he's nicked.
It wouldn't be a huge leap to have him own a vintage Bentley as a hobby, it would fit the Fleming character for sure.

    Controversial opinion:

I prefer Connery's Bentley in NSNA to any and every of the BMW's used during the Brosnan era.

I also prefer the Bentley in NSNA to the newer Aston Martins as seen in CR and QOS.

I will add that I prefer the Bentley in NSNA too any other Bond car that we've seen, except the Bentley in FRWL.

I wouldn't go that far, but I do agree with @ToTheRight's original post.
On a similar note, I consider OP's Alfa Romeo to be the nicest looking car sans gadgets.

That's a case for John Steed driving off into the sunset with Emma Peel in one of The Avengers episodes, but no more. The modern movie James Bond wouldn't really have such a car...unfortunately, of course.

Since we're on the topic of cars...

I prefer the Aston Martin Vanquish from Die Another Day over the DBS in Casino/Quantum.

    I'm assuming this is controversial.

I agree that the car itself is definitely more handsome.

Very. The DBS is a top of the range manly sleek work of art. The Vanquish is a bit small and girly!!

    Both are beauties. 🤔
I think I gotta go with Craig's DBS. Sexier, more stylish.

Completely disagree, the Vanquish is sleek, gorgeous and simple. The colour is just perfect, it only exemplifies this.

The DBS on the other hand is dark, aggressive and overly sculpted.

    Just my opinion, of course.

Let's not associate every detail with the film in question. CR is a better film than DAD, no question about it, but the Vanquish has a much more stylish design than the more aggressive-looking DBS.

I prefer the CR DBS over the Vanquish by a bit. That DBS, IMO, was the peak of AM's designs - everything that came afterwards is subpar. The DB10 looks good from certain angles though.

They are both beautiful looking cars, though the DBS has a more aggressive look. I guess.... I guess I would pick the DBS. However, I would pick them both over the DB5.

Nah, that was the DB9, but you can't blame them not handing that one to Bond. Still, I'd go for the DBS as well, just a bit better proportioned and especially the back looks better.

My favorite new Aston Martin is the gorgeous DB11.

A far sight prettier than the DB10.

There have been many fantastic looking Astons over the years but that DB11 is a work of art.

I always wondered why so many of us dislike Connery's performances in YOLT and DAF. Granted, they are not as lean as DN-TB, but even in easy-going mode the man is a joy to watch.

I enjoy him A LOT in DAF. He really looks like he's energized in a way he hasn't been since the earlier films. I think he only gets flack in that because he was out of shape, so it unintentionally gives off the perception of him phoning it. Keep in mind, he was only recast in the role weeks before production even started.

Connery is fine in YOLT, but compared with the previous four (especially TB where he’s at his best and is seems to be having a lot of fun in the role) he’s clearly not as tuned in to playing Bond anymore. The huge focus on him by the press and the people of Japan I’m sure affected his attitude, which is why he’s better in DAF, where he didn’t have to deal with that quite so much.

Connery is a blast in DAF. I think he's fantastic, albeit out of shape.

He looks half-asleep and incredibly pissed off with the role in YOLT, and all of the behind-the-scenes stuff with how disgruntled he was at the paparazzi and with Saltzman seems to back this up.
