I enjoyed the second and third book in the series better than the first; I do hope it is filmed with Dan and Rooney.

From what I've seen Fincher was so excited when he got approval to direct and everyone backing him during the making of the film were dedicated to making an R rated series, so I'm sure at least he will return. In addition, it is likely the second and third films will be shot back-to-back, so it is likely Rooney and Dan will return as well.

Daniel and Rooney are committed to return, Fincher is not and take my work for it, he won't return. Too much hazzle with the prods about length and other stuff and probably not enough awards. Its already confirmed, IF - they will be shot back to back, which makes a lot of sense. I hope, they find another director, who won't cost them money with taking like forever to do them.
Peersonally I would make one film out of the two..

I guess, if they come to an agreement, the sequels will be made. In the end - counting DVD's etc, this one will be profitable..

Who do I want to direct this if not Fincher ... Ridley Scott? What do you all think?

Matt Vaughn, Danny Boyle for example..Kathryn Bigelow. It would be interesting to have a womans take on the topic.

Hmmm. I like Kathryn Bigelow or Matt Vaughn, yes. No sure about Boyle, but maybe.

Totally aside from the main topic, but Dragon Tattoo related: I am just today watching the Swedish version of The Girl who Played with Fire ... in Swedish ... while sitting here in Japan. No, I do not speak or understand Swedish. But it is a nice change from listening to Japanese - and I cannot get English subtitles on foreign films here! I so wish ... :|
