I will keep an eye on both Portugal & Holland tonight..i will stick with the one that looks better,or I will use Sky's split screen so I can see both.

Went for France-Belarus and Netherlands-Sweden tonight. Former Rosenborg, and now Celtic right back Mikael Lustig playing for Sweden tonight.

And it's a penalty for the Dutch – and Robben scores!

Close for Giroud! Expect goals in both matches tonight.

And it's two for France, Griezmann and Giroud.

Robben scores both goals against Sweden, and bows out of the Orange National team for good. He was a brilliant player to have in our national squad and did not get enough credit for his services.

That over the hill coach we have let the man play until the end instead of giving him on the 90th minute a sub for the Public to honor them. Nobody expected 6 more goals in two minutes. The daft old fool had no sense of decency in the final game of his captain.

Brilliant player, sad he did not get to take part in one last World Cup.

Was the U.S. snubbed from a place in the World Cup due to a goal which shouldn't been given?

Nope they were not snubbed but simply lost their game. When it comes down to one goal you are not being snubbed, you were just not good enough.

It was Trinidad and Tobago...they should have won, full stop,it shouldn't have come to relying on a draw etc.

Ah, I see. Only read some headlines, which made it seem like the goal in question was one of the goals in the game between the U.S and Trinidad and Tobago – which, of course, was not the case.

The US team were struggling and just were not good enough to qualify, so they were not snubbed, the quality they currently have does not belong in an end tournament.

I don't mind them honestly. Just not enough quality in their squad however, and nice to see a newcomer like Panama enter the Cup for a change.

Exactly! There are some exciting new additions this time around with Iceland, Ireland, Panama and the winner of the play off between Peru and New Zealand.

True. I was a bit to quick. Australia har been in the World Cup before. Maybe a new one could boost their interest in football even further.

Indeed, their fans were very colourful, all kitted out in yellow and green.
Shame we arnt going to be seeing the Dutch orange yet again.

Ireland has also been to the World cup in 1990 when they even made it to the QF and 1994 when they made it to the round of 16 beating Italy in their group with 1:0. They further made it to the World Cup in 2002, agian making it to the round of 16.

Noth Ireland was in the World Cup in 1982 and 1986. So also no newcomers.

Honduras, Australia and New Zealand had also already qualified in the past. Australia even qualified for three time in a row since 2006. Peru has also qualified once at least; in 1974 as far I remember or 1978. Iceland and Panama have never qualified until now.

Peru even came in fourth I think in 1978. They also qualified four years later.

That is true, but he did score some memorable goals though.

An estimated 900 million will watch Liverpool v Man United on Saturday, that's insane. To put it in perspective the 2014 World Cup final had 1 Billion viewers.

Gordon Strachan has left the Scotland job! Read a rumour yesterday that Sam Allardyce was in the running?!!!

I guess it's schadenfreude. People want to see Jurgen's naivety laid brutally bare by a manager who knows what he's doing.

I think it could be a tough game for United, though I'll happily enjoy Klopp flop in front of the Kop if it should happen.
